2nd Quarter Parents’ Orientation Narrative Report

In the continuing Modular Distance Learning of Calatrava


National High School, the school held a Parents’ Orientation for the Second
Quarter of School Year 2021-2022 at the Senior High School Building
lobby. It was a 3-Day Orientation participated by the parents of Barangay
Pangulo and Balogo (November 29, 2021), San Roque and Linao
(December 1, 2021), Poblacion and Pagsangahan (December 2, 2021).

The first day of the Orientation started at 8:00 in the morning.


It was began by an opening prayer led by Mrs. Lilibeth Mirabete, a SHS
teacher and followed by the singing of the National Anthem conducted by
Mrs. Rufina Fiedacan, a JHS teacher. Ms. Coleen Joy Roda, a JHS
teacher welcomed the parents with a smile and encouraging words that
inspire them to continue guiding their children in this Modular Distance
Learning. Afterwards, Junior High School concerns were tackled by Mrs.
Rodalyn F. Bastillador. Before the actual discussion, she gave trivia
questions to the parents with a reward of regular load to those who
answered correctly. The following agenda were discussed:

1.) PSA Birth certificate of every students was required and must be
submitted to the advisers before the school year ends especially to
those graduating students.
2.) 4Ps recipients who were not submitting Written Works and
Performance Task would be tagged as non-compliant and would
then be out of the privilege if did not comply. A 4Ps recipient must
submit at least 60% of the Written Works and 60% of the
Performance Task given by each subject teacher.
3.) Learners with disability would be given with special lessons that fit
them. Mr. Jayson Faner and Mr. John Clint Gabinete were the
teachers assigned in SPED.
4.) MRTD (Measles Rubella Tetanus Diphtheria Vaccines) would be
given to student 12-13 years of age scheduled on December 2021.
5.) Problems and concerns in Junior High School
a. Answer sheets of the students must be submitted on-time and on
the scheduled retrieval per barangay.
b. Answer sheets must have the following important details; name,
section, address, subject, and contact number (if any) before
submitting to the resident teachers.
c. If there were questions, clarifications, and queries regarding the
learning tasks given, the students could send it to the Messenger
Group Chat or directly send it to the teacher’s messenger
account.
d. Students were not allowed to submit and claim answer sheets.
ONLY PARENTS were allowed to go to school and submit the
papers and get SLMs on the Retrieval and Distribution Day.
e. Reminder for the Grade 10 parents, graduating students should
submit answer sheets ahead of time.
6.) Concerns in Senior High School and upcoming pilot face to face
classes were discussed by Ms. Noemi Gay Mortel.
a. PSA Birth certificates of SHS students were required to submit
especially with those graduating students.
b. Some students were not complying all the tasks given for the two-
week period. Performance tasks must be done because it is
where 60% of the students’ grade came from.
c. Some students were submitting answers copied from another
student.
d. In some cases, parents were answering the Modules.
e. Pilot Testing of Face to face classes was proposed to Municipal
Government of Calatrava and once approved would be done this
coming Second Semester around February 2022.

Students were scheduled to attend school once a week. Each


subject had an allotted 50 minutes to 1 hour time. There would be
a break time in for the snack (morning) and lunch.
Students were not allowed to go out of the school premises once
entered the school, thus, they would bring their “baon” for lunch
with them. ONLY VACCINATED parents were allowed to bring
foods to their children. They would leave it to the guard assigned
at the gate and he would then coordinate with the adviser to
inform the student and to let him/her get his/her food.

Only five classrooms would be used for F2F classes. There


would be an “Isolation Room” where students that showed
COVID symptoms would be monitored and isolated. The Rural
Health Unit of Calatrava would coordinate with parent/s if ever
student/s manifested some COVID related symptoms.

Parent’s waiver would be signed by parents who were willing to


let their children participate in F2F Classes. If not signed by
parents, their children would undergo pure Modular Distance
Learning.

7.) Other concerns in JHS and SHS were discussed by Mr. Mario G.
Dela Cruz Jr., Teacher-in-Charge of Calatrava National High School.
a. The COVID-19 vaccine was not made mandatory by the
Department of Education to students. It was parents’ choice to let
their children be vaccinated with COVID-19 vaccine.
b. Sleep over of the students to other student’s house should not be
allowed by parents. Teachers were not encouraging students to
do group study especially at night.

After discussing all the agenda by the persons-in-charge,


open forum was made. Queries were clarified and answered by Ma’am
Rodalyn, Ma’am Noemi Gay, and Sir Mario. After the open forum, closing
remarks was given by Mrs. Aprilyn F. Constantino thanking the parents for
their untiring support to the students and to the school as a whole. Closing
prayer was led by Mrs. Monalisa Gregorio. The emcee was Mrs. Mary Joy
Famaran who made the flow of the program successful. The first day of the
parents’ orientation was accomplished through the effort of the teachers,
parents, and above all the guidance of the Lord.

The second day of the Orientation also started at 8:00 in the


morning. It was began by an opening prayer led by Mrs. Glaiza Fodra, a
SHS teacher and followed by the singing of the National Anthem conducted
by Mrs. Ronalyn Manzala, a JHS teacher. Mr. Jayson Fradejas, a JHS
teacher welcomed the parents in the 2nd day of orientation. Afterwards,
Junior High School concerns were tackled by Mrs. Leonalisa Manes. Same
agenda mentioned above were discussed by Ma’am Manes in Junior High
School concerns and Mrs. Melody Madrona in Senior High School
concerns. Issues, and queries regarding Pilot Face to face classes were
answered by Ms. Noemi Gay Mortel and Mr. Mario G. Dela Cruz, Jr.
Closing remarks was delivered by Mrs. Clairenbel Falqueza, a SHS teacher
and lastly, closing prayer was guided by Mrs. Annelyn Maestro. The
Master-of-ceremony was Mr. Lerio Mores.

The third day of the Orientation also started at 8:00 in the


morning. It was began by an opening prayer led by Mrs. Monalisa Gregorio,
a JHS teacher and followed by the singing of the National Anthem
conducted by Mrs. Irish Faye Moreno, a SHS teacher. Mrs. Pinky
Ferrancullo, a JHS teacher welcomed the parents in the 3rd day of
orientation. Afterwards, Junior High School concerns were tackled by Ms.
Clareisse Gabinete. Same agenda mentioned above were discussed by
Ma’am Clareisse for Junior High School concerns and Mrs. Jeannie C.
Perez for Senior High School concerns. Issues, and queries regarding Pilot
Face to Face classes were answered by Ms. Noemi Gay Mortel and Mr.
Mario G. Dela Cruz, Jr. Closing remarks was delivered by Mrs. Ofelia F.
Manzalay, a SHS teacher and lastly, closing prayer was given by Mr.
Eliakim Fababeir. The facilitator of the program was Mrs. Maria Liza
Mindoro.
