**Objective:**
By the end of the lesson, students will be able to give clear and coherent instructions for cooking a
simple recipe.
**Materials Needed:**
- Timer or stopwatch

**Procedure:**
- Show pictures or illustrations of various cooking utensils and ingredients on the board or screen.
- Ask students to identify the items and discuss their uses. Encourage them to use vocabulary related
to cooking.
- Explain to students that they will be learning how to give clear instructions for cooking a simple
recipe.
- Discuss the importance of using clear and precise language when giving instructions.
- Provide examples of imperative verbs (e.g., chop, mix, stir) and sequencing words (e.g., first, next,
then) used in recipes.
- Present a simple recipe to the class (e.g., scrambled eggs, fruit salad).
- Demonstrate how to give instructions step by step, using the recipe as a guide.
- Emphasize the use of imperative verbs and sequencing words to organize the instructions.
- Distribute printed recipe cards or handouts with a simple recipe to each group.
- Instruct students to take turns giving instructions for preparing the recipe to their partner(s).
- Encourage students to use the language of giving instructions and to help each other if needed.
- The spokesperson should read the recipe aloud and explain each step while the rest of the group
follows along.
- In pairs or individually, have them write down the instructions for a simple recipe of their choice,
using the language and structure learned in the lesson.
- Review the key vocabulary and phrases related to giving instructions for cooking.
- Ask students to reflect on the importance of clear communication when following or giving
instructions.
- Organize a cooking demonstration in class where students can follow along with the instructions given
by the teacher or a guest speaker.
