1. Introduce and teach pupils names of colours using flashcards.
Lesson delivery
1. Give pupils instructions’ Point to something (red etc) - pupils point to things
inside or outside the classroom.
2. Pupils do step 2 in small groups.
3. Play Simon says. If your instruction is Simon says point to something green,
pupils do this. If you just say Point to something green, they don’t do it. (21st
CA)
4. Pupils do step 4 in groups.
5. Teacher distributes worksheet.
6. Pupils write the names of the colours and colour the objects. (CBA)
Post lesson
Extend the colour sequence by adding a colour e.g. Point to something red and
something blue. (HOTS)
