Outcome Reflection 12 – Writing Multiple Ways using Charts while Coding

1. How has this assignment helped you engage in your chosen outcome? Did you write about
one of the goals in the outcomes, or did you apply the skills talked about in each one?

- For this reflection, I will be reflecting on Group Activity 3, and will using the
Multiple Ways of Writing outcome. For this assignment, we had to get into
groups after watching numerous Disney trailers, and code them based on their
different features, such as their colors, magic, action, actors, music, and mythical
characters. To do this, we had to integrate a chart into our assignment, and input
all of the code into said chart so it was easier to look at and distinguish the
different trailers. Integrating a chart is an example of integrating multimodality
into writing, as it is another form of writing and presenting text. So for this
assignment, we applied the skills of writing multiple ways and integrating
multimodality, tying directly with the Multiple Ways of Writing outcome.

2. What is something, whether it be a concept or a personal realization, that you learned while
engaging in this assignment? Or, if you didn't learn anything, what did you find useful
about this exercise?

- From this assignment, I learned that using charts is a good way to organize code
and text data. As before, I used charts mainly to organize data that I had found. I
also found this exercise useful in this way, as I found out more about
multimodality in texts and how multimodality isn’t always just pictures and text.

3. What do you want to say about the process, whether it be during the brainstorming process
or after the final due date of a finished assignment?

- For this assignment, we worked in groups to code the assignment, so we had to

work together within the chart in order to get the codes of the trailers. Doing this
process taught me a lot about how everyone can offer different perspectives for
non-concrete ideas/concepts and contribute in a different way. As not everyone
has the same view for writing and texts.
