CTO, Nykaa
Sub: Application for the position of Senior Product Manager

Dear Sir,

I am very excited about the job posting by Nykaa. The journey Nykaa founder, Falguni Nayak has taken to make her vision
come true has been fascinating. Apart from creating a platform which sells cosmetic brand from Nivea to Bobbi Brown, Nykaa
has engaged its customers by leveraging technology in every step of the way. I have always been excited by technology and its
scope to solve everyday problems. Therefore, I believe Nykaa’s Product Manager role is the perfect opportunity to work with
the latest technology while personally effecting thousands of people.

I have approximately 3 years of work experience as a software engineer in Samsung R&D Institute, Bangalore. I was part of the
Android team at Samsung and worked on the Android application that connects Samsung smart-watch and fitness bands to the
user’s phone. I was independently handling modules like 'about gear', and 'gearfit installer' while working with teams across
design, UX and testing to develop and launch these modules across 20 million devices.

On the technical front, I worked on an IOT project for which I used machine learning to develop the client side code for a smart
home project. I regularly participated in all the ideation contests and reached the final 10 in the augmented reality contest amongst
2000 employees. I believe my understanding of the end users has enabled me to continuously strive to brainstorm new ideas and
submit patent applications targeting problem areas for users.

Nykaa’s journey into the cosmetic e-commerce space excites me. The ability to draw luxury brands to a platform that also hosts
other brands like Ponds while at the same time drawing on the Sephora concept to leverage youtube and fashion bloggers to
poularise Nykaa’s products and educate the Indian population about make-up clearly shows how Nykaa is ready to differentiate
itself in the Indian market by tackling the specific and diverse needs of the Indian customers. Nykaa’s initiative to open luxury
stores and stick to the inventory model with only Indian funding, show its determination to set itself apart in an otherwise crowded
e-commerce space.

Having worked on several apps at Samsung, I have understood what constitutes a great product and what goes into making of
those products. While my contribution so far has been limited to technological inputs, there is so much more to a product, from
its inception, to each feature addition and its transformation over time: and this is what excites me. Identifying white spaces in the
market, product feature formulation, product development and product marketing are all equally, if not more important. My deep
understanding of products, my profound experience in technology, and my ability to empathize with the consumer, make me a
good fit for the role of Senior Product Manager at Nykaa.

Thank you for your consideration and I look forward to hearing from you.

Regards,
