Az Euroexam C1 Magyarország legnépszerűbb felsőfokú vizsgája, amit több tucat brit és

európai egyetem fogad el. Sokaknak jelentett azonban extra kihívást néhány feladat és
instrukcióik bonyolultsága. A 2023 decemberi vizsgától kezdve érvényes változások ebben
jelentenek segítséget.

Az olvasás- és hallásértés feladatok

jelentősen egyszerűsödnek
Felkészítő tanárok és vizsgázók visszajelzéseit is
figyelembe vettük, így a fogalmazott válaszok beírását
igénylő, vagy többféle listából választós feladatokat
nem csak egyszerűbb, de játékosabb kihívást is jelentő
új feladatok váltják fel.

Játékos, de hétköznapi kihívások

Az új feladatok egyikében például egy

sor rövid szöveg szerzőit kell kiválasztani,
olyan válaszopciókkal párosítva őket, mint
„támogató tanár”, „gyakorlatias mérnök”
vagy éppen „fenyegetően fellépő rendőr”.
Másutt egy elképzelt háztartási eszköz vagy
egy app használati utasításába, esetleg
társasjáték részletes leírásába kell megadott
mondatokat a megfelelő helyre beilleszteni.

Mindent kétszer hallgathatsz meg, és

jegyzetelned sem kell
Az egyik legnépszerűbb változás, hogy a hallásértés
vizsgarészben búcsút veszünk a jegyzetelős feladattól,
helyette mindig egy vita három szereplőjéhez kell
párosítani ki miről beszél. Mostantól ráadásul mindhárom
feladatban kétszer hallgathatod meg a felvételeket.

 Hogyan használjuk az Eurocity C1
tankönyvet?

A 2023 decembertől érvényes változások a könyv 17 fejezetéből négyet érintenek közvetlenül.

A fennmaradó 13 fejezet változatlan formában érvényes és továbbra is kiváló alapot nyújt a
módszeres felkészüléshez, felkészítéshez.

A Reading Task 1 és Task 2, valamint a Listening Task 1 és Task 2 feladatokat feldolgozó,

azokra felkészítő négy fejezet is változatlanul hasznos a C1 szinten szükséges nyelvi készségek
fejlesztéséhez, a felsőfokú kommunikáció alapjainak megerősítéséhez. Felkészítő tanárokat
és vizsgázókat egyaránt bátorítunk tehát, hogy a négy fejezet gyakorlatait végezzék el, ha a
felkészülési menetrend erre lehetőséget ad.

Mivel a négy új vizsgafeladatból három teljesen új, egy pedig jelentősen egyszerűsödött, így
ezek a fejezetek a vizsgafeladat közvetlen gyakorlására és az éles vizsgán leghatékonyabb
megoldási technikák fejlesztésére nem alkalmasak. Kiegészítő füzetünk további részében
ezért a Reading és Listening részek új feladatait egyenként tekintjük át és adunk részletes
támpontokat az eredményes megoldáshoz.

A Eurocity C1 új kiadása, mely már teljes egészében az új vizsgafeladatokra épül, 2024

februárban fog megjelenni.

 Who is writing? (Ki a szerző?)

A Reading vizsgarész első feladata a legtöbbek

számára ismerős lesz, hiszen tankönyvekben is
sokszor kell szövegeket személyekhez párosítani.

A feladatban kapunk egy témát, amit annak rövid,

kb. 6-8 sornyi, kifejtése követ. Ebből a bevezetőből
derül ki, hogy mi az a téma, amellyel kapcsolatban
hat személy fog megnyilatkozni egy-egy bekezdés
terjedelemben.

Ezt a hat bekezdést kell párosítani a személyekkel,

akikről foglalkozásukat és a témával kapcsolatos
hozzáállásukat tudjuk. Így, például, lehet köztük
dörzsölt politikai tanácsadó (shrewd political
advisor) vagy támogató tanár (supportive teacher). A
szövegek helyes párosításában leginkább azok jellege, a szöveget író személy szóhasználata és
viszonyulása fog segíteni, és kevésbé a szövegek tartalma.

Figyelembe véve a teljes Reading vizsgarész idejét, ennek a feladatnak a megoldására 10

percet javaslunk. Erre figyelj már a gyakorlás során is!

Ezzel kezdd...
• Olvasd el a feladat angol nyelvű instrukcióit! Egyrészt informál a feladat témájáról, másrészt
leírja, hogy pontosan mit kell tenned. A témameghatározást kivéve a feladatleírás teljesen
standard, így minden Who is writing? feladat esetében ugyanazt fogod olvasni.

• Vess egy pillantást a nyolc személyre, akik közül majd kiválasztod, ki írta az 1-től 6-ig
számozott szövegeket. Ez valóban csak egy gyors pillantás, ám ha itt, a személyleírások
között találsz olyat, amit nem értesz, akkor azt ellenőrizd szótárból.

Erre figyelj a feladat megoldása közben...
• Olvasd el a témát kifejtő rövid bevezetést! Itt már nem feltétlenül szükséges minden egyes
szót értened -- a lényeg, hogy a szöveg tartalmával tisztában legyél. Ugyanez igaz lesz a hat
megnyilatkozásra is: annyit kell majd értened, ami a sikeres párosításhoz szükséges.

• Első olvasáskor már próbáld észrevenni azokat a kifejezéseket, mondattöredékeket, amelyek

utalnak az író foglalkozására vagy a témához kapcsolódó hozzáállására. Akár jelöld is
meg ezeket magadnak. Elképzelhető, hogy első olvasás után már lesznek olyan szövegek,
amelyeknek az íróját be is tudod azonosítani.

• Második olvasáskor próbálj további kifejezéseket („bizonyítékokat”) találni, melyek

segítenek a személyek beazonosításában. Ne feledd: ha már akár a foglalkozásban, akár a
szerző viszonyulásában biztos vagy, akkor megvan a megoldás!

• Ellenőrzöd a megoldásaidat - ez világos! Ezen kívül, érdemes végigmenned a szövegeken és
újra beazonosítani, hogy mik voltak azok a kifejezések, amelyek segítettek a megoldásban.
Ugyanezt megteheted azoknál a szövegeknél is, amiket esetleg elrontottál: próbáld meg
utólag megtalálni a a helyes megoldásról árulkodó jeleket.

Most pedig állj neki a mintafeladatnak, betartva a 10 perces időkeretet!

Should teenagers learn to drive?

For decades, it has been a rite of passage as vital to young people as mobile phones or a
dramatic breakup. But is the tradition of learning to drive aged 17 running out of fuel?
Statistics from the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency show that the number of 17 to
25-year-olds taking the test has fallen by 18% over the past 10 years. This is largely because
of costs, but also because in an increasingly urban and digital world, cars are no longer the
vehicle of liberation they once were. It begs the question: should we continue to encourage
teenagers to learn to drive?

Teenage drivers are 10 times more likely
to be involved in an accident, particularly
at night and at the weekend, mostly
because they are speeding or because
they underestimate how hazardous a
situation is. The presence of passengers
also increases young drivers’ risk of
crashing, with drivers and passengers
egging each other on. One solution
would be restricted licences, a kind
of driving curfew under which newly
qualified drivers wouldn’t be allowed
to drive at night or carry passengers. Or
perhaps we should look at a more radical
approach and raise the driving age to 21.
Young people do find driving a liberating
experience and although it’s not without
risks, I still think it should be encouraged.
True, young people don’t always act
responsibly, but driving does foster
responsibility. It also requires quick
reflexes and the ability to respond to
changing situations, all of which are skills
that young people need to work on.
Learning to drive instils discipline and
focus, which are valuable traits in life. And
most important of all, driving opens up
career opportunities for young people
and improves their employability. Having
the ability to drive can expand their
horizons in terms of career aspirations
and opportunities.

In an era dominated by automation,
the convenience of self-driving cars and
ride-sharing services may be tempting
people to steer away from learning
to drive. Or perhaps the government
believes that a populace heavily reliant
on automated transportation will be less
inclined to develop their problem-solving
skills, so they’ve stopped promoting it. I
can’t help but feel that society might be
headed towards a future where practical
life skills are marginalized in favour of
passive dependence on technology.
Could it be that the government wishes
to deter the masses from becoming too
independent, with an inherent capability
to troubleshoot, innovate, and adapt to
unforeseen situations?

It’s a win-win for everyone if you ask me.
They get to drive, and we ensure a steady
demand for vehicles, thus supporting
manufacturers, dealerships, and
associated businesses. This includes not
only the production of cars but also the
development and manufacturing of parts,
accessories, and related technologies.
Even the retail industry benefits from
driving. Owning a car enables potential
customers to access a wider range of
stores and shopping centres, which
in turn fuels consumer spending.
Interestingly, walking or public transport
do not encourage the same level of
customer mobility.

Driving provides a sense of independence.
Being able to navigate the roads
confidently empowers individuals to
explore new places and pursue exciting
new opportunities. The ability to control
one’s own mobility is the ultimate form of
self-reliance for many. Learning to drive
also encourages social interactions, which
in turn fosters a sense of community.
Carpooling, road trips with friends, and
family outings become more accessible
when people are equipped with driving
skills. It allows them to connect with
others and build relationships, which will
benefit them in the long run.

The operation of motor vehicles by
individuals below the recognized age of
majority simply does not make sense. It is
incongruous to grant driving privileges to
individuals who have not yet reached the
age of majority. It is perplexing that while
these individuals are not entrusted with
the responsibility of electing the nation’s
leaders, they are permitted to engage
in activities that have the potential
to endanger countless lives through
recklessness and lack of experience. Even
if the vehicle in question has liability
insurance coverage, insurance providers
may be reluctant to assume liability for
losses incurred as a result of the actions of
an underage driver.

A Reading vizsgarész második feladata szintén nem

lesz teljesen ismeretlen. Adott egy kb. egyoldalas
szöveg, melyből hét mondatot kivettünk. Ezekre az
üres helyekre illő mondatokat kell kiválasztanod egy
listából, melyben összesen kilenc mondat szerepel.

A szöveg, amit elolvasol, egy eszköz, találmány,

műszaki cikk, vagy ehhez hasonló dolog bemutatása
és használatának vagy működésének folyamatleírása
lesz.

A cél, hogy az egyes helyekre a listából kiválasztott

mondatokkal értelmes és logikusan felépített
szöveget kapj.

Figyelembe véve a teljes Reading vizsgarész idejét,

ennek a feladatnak a megoldására 25 percet
javaslunk. Ezt vedd figyelembe már a gyakorlás
során is!

• Legyen a „lyukas” szöveg az első! Fusd át a teljes szöveget éppen csak annyira, hogy
kialakuljon benned egy kép, hogy hogyan épül fel, tartalmilag honnan hova jut el és

• Másodszorra már lassabban és a részletekre jobban odafigyelve olvass! Egy-egy kihagyott

helynél – ha az egy bekezdés közben van – érdemes először azt végigolvasnod. Ezután
nézz a listára és próbáld meg beazonosítani a hiányzó mondatot. Figyelj, hogy amikor a
beillesztett mondattal együtt olvasod a szövegrészt, akkor jól illeszkedik-e mind az előtte,
mind az utána következő részhez!

• Ha bizonytalan vagy (nem tudod), mi illik az adott helyre, akkor menj tovább! Ha van
ötleted, de az nem biztos, akkor írd be a lehetséges mondatok betűjelét az adott helyre a
feladatlapon (és nem a válaszlapon, ahova majd a végleges megoldásaid kerülnek). És menj
tovább!

• Amikor még egyszer végigmész a szövegen, akkor már csak a bizonytalan pontokra kell

 How things work (25 minutes)

You will read a text about a new household appliance. Seven sentences have been
removed from the text.

Instructions for use
■ Unpack the Yoghurt Maker, remove all
packaging materials. Before first use, wipe
the base unit with a clean, damp cloth. Make
sure that all parts are clean and dry before
assembling the product.
■ Place the Yoghurt Maker on a level, dry
surface, away from draughts, heat sources
and appliances which may vibrate e.g.,
washing machines and fridges.
■ Plug in and switch on the Yoghurt Maker at
the socket. 3. __________
■ Press the ‘Function’ button. Press the ‘+’
or ‘–‘ buttons to increase or decrease the
temperature in single degrees. You can
experiment with making yoghurt between
39˚C to 45˚C.
■ Press the ‘+’ or ‘–‘ buttons, to increase or
decrease the time in hours. You can set the
time between 8h to 48h. The default time is 8
hours, which is the length of time it takes to
make yoghurt with whole milk.
■ Start the programme by pressing the ‘Start/
Cancel button’. 4. __________ If you want to
stop the Yoghurt Maker, press and hold the
‘Start/Cancel’ button until there is a beep.
Preparations and guide to timings
1. Turn your Yoghurt Maker on so that it has
time to preheat, do this by setting the
temperature and time at 42˚C for one hour.
Make sure the cups are removed and the
cover is on the Yoghurt Maker.
2. Take the starter yoghurt (natural plain live
yoghurt) from the fridge so it has time
to warm up closer to room temperature
while you are preparing the milk. Start with
1,250ml of milk. Add this to a saucepan and
bring to the boil. Use a whisk to mix the
milk occasionally, this helps make a thicker
yoghurt. 5. __________
3. When you think it has reached the correct
temperature, add 125ml of your starter
yoghurt to the milk and whisk to mix. The
fresher the better, so check the ‘Use By’ date.
4. Pour the mixture into the glass cups. Place
the cover on the Yoghurt Maker, and make
sure it is properly fitted on top.

5. Press and hold the ‘Start/Cancel’ button
to stop the Yoghurt Maker and reset
the temperature to 42˚C and the time
depending on the milk you have used.
Different types of milk take different
amounts of time to turn into yoghurt.
■ Whole milk = 8 hours
■ Semi skimmed milk = 10 hours
■ Skimmed milk = 12 hours
■ Non-dairy milks = 16 hours
6. Leave the Yoghurt Maker undisturbed until
the end of the cycle. 6. __________ When the
Yoghurt Maker has finished, it will beep 5
times, both lights will flash, and the display
will show ‘00’.
Troubleshooting
■ The yoghurt has a peculiar smell: Do not
eat it. You may have used expired milk or
expired yoghurt, or you may have left the
yoghurt in the Yoghurt Maker after the timer
has finished.
7. __________
■ The yoghurt is not the correct consistency:
The starter yoghurt may have been added to
the milk before it had properly cooled, which
has killed the probiotics. If you used yoghurt
from a previous batch as a starter, you might
have saved it for too long.
■ Whey is collecting on the surface of the
yoghurt: A little liquid is normal. You can
mix it into the yoghurt or pour it off. If there
is a lot of liquid, the milk may have been
overheated causing it to separate. In this
case, the product is edible but may not be to
your taste.

A Listening vizsgarész első feladatában

hat kétszereplős párbeszédet fogsz kétszer
meghallgatni. Azt kell eldöntened, hogy a kettő
közül az egyik beszélő az egyes párbeszédekben
milyen véleményt fogalmaz meg az adott témáról.
Vagyis a rövid, pár szavas válasz opciók mindegyike
két elemből áll: (1) egy témameghatározásból (pl.
lehet a téma egy egy műtárgy elhelyezése, vagyis
the positioning of an artwork) és (2) egy érzést,
véleményt, hozzáállást leíró szóból (pl. értetlen,
vagyis bewildered).

Miután mind a hat párbeszédet meghallgattad,

következik a második lejátszás, így még
megalapozottabban tudod eldönteni, melyik válasz
opció melyik beszélgetéshez kapcsolódik.

Ezzel kezdd...

• Itt a hangfelvétel segít, és először is, végigvezet a feladat utasításain. Többek között
azt is fogod hallani, hogy lesz egy teljes perced a nyolc válaszopció átolvasására még a
párbeszédek előtt. Ezt semmiképp se hagyd ki! Így fog kiderülni, hogy milyen konkrét
témákról fognak beszélgetni a párbeszédekben (pl. az alábbi mintafeladatban lesz szó új
installációról és emlékműről eszközökről egyaránt).

• Az utasításban egyértelműen szerepelni fog, hogy melyik beszélő megnyilvánulásaira

kell koncentrálnod (pl. … what issue is being discussed and how Keith feels about it). Az
ő megszólalásaiban kell beazonosítanod azokat a kulcsszavakat, kifejezéseket, amelyek

• Nincs szó arról, hogy a másik beszélő mondandóját teljesen figyelmen kívül hagyhatod. Az ő
megszólalásai elsősorban abban segítenek, hogy az adott párbeszéd témáját könnyebben és
magabiztosabban be tudd azonosítani.

• Ne ijedj meg, ha nem tudsz kihallani vagy megérteni egy-egy szót. Ez bármelyik
párbeszédben előfordulhat, de – jó esetben – ezek többségére nem is lesz szükséged,
és a meglévő tudásod alapján kiválasztott kulcsszavak elegendőek lesznek a sikeres
megoldáshoz.

• Ne feledd: ha már akár a témában, akár az adott beszélő viszonyulásában biztos vagy, akkor
megvan a megoldás!

A feladat megoldása után...

• Ellenőrzöd a megoldásaidat – ez világos! Ezen kívül, érdemes végigmenned a szövegátiraton
és megjelölnöd azokat a szavakat és kifejezéseket, amelyek segítettek a megoldásban.

feladatlapon összesen kilenc témaleírást olvashatsz,
amelyekről azt kell eldöntened, hogy melyik beszélő

következik a második lejátszás, így még
megalapozottabban tudod eldönteni, melyik

• Itt a hangfelvétel segít, és először is, végigvezet a feladat utasításain. Többek között azt is
fogod hallani, hogy lesz két teljes perced a kilenc témaleírás átolvasására még a szövegek
meghallgatása előtt. Ezt semmiképp se hagyd ki! Így fog kiderülni, hogy milyen konkrét

• Sokat könnyít a dolgodon, hogy ebben a formájában a beszélgetés nem igazi vita, hiszen a

szavába. Érdemes tehát egy beszélőre koncentrálva, a legfontosabb gondolatait egy

Jayne Hi Keith! Guess what! I was just down in Saint Patrick’s Square, and you know they’re putting
up those new sculptures to celebrate the town’s anniversary?
Keith Oh, that’s right! There was a big kerfuffle about where they were going to put them when
they announced them a while back. I don’t know why people mix politics up with art anyway.
Jayne I know! Anyway, they’re up now and they’re all over the square. You can barely see the
church, and people can’t mingle in the square like they used to. You struggle to get to any of
the cafés too the way it is.
Keith What? You’re kidding me! That just makes no sense whatsoever. What possessed them to do
it like that?
Jayne Seems they just don’t care about ordinary people.

Conversation 2

Keith Speaking of which, do you remember that statue of Sir Thomas Burnley they’ve erected in
the park?
Jayne Actually, I was just thinking about it the other day. I mean, the guy’s obviously a famous son
of our town, but, come on! He made his fortune by exploiting the underprivileged in society.
Who in their right mind would choose to celebrate him in this day and age?
Keith Absolutely! It’s troubling on so many levels. Heads should’ve flown at the council... whoever
gave that the green light. Well, it was an absolute scandal! Quite right that it was vandalised
in my opinion.
Jayne Hmm well, I don’t condone violence, but even I can’t really disagree with you on that one
Keith!
Keith Me neither, Jayne, but there’s a time and a place for everything.

Conversation 3

Jayne Now, there’s another historical statue which has had a bit of work done on it recently in
Market Square. Do you know which one I’m talking about?
Keith Oh yeah, Cyril Johnstone, right? I suppose he’s an obvious figure to represent our town as a
famous writer, but don’t you think it’s a little too much?
Jayne Not at all. I think Cyril’s statue honours the man in the right way and ensures that he gets the
recognition he deserves.
Keith I kinda feel that with his house and museum just over the road, the statue is a bit over the
top.
Jayne But the museum’s quite small and doesn’t have very long opening hours. I really can’t agree
with you on this one.

Keith Maybe we can agree about something else then. Have you seen the murals down by Stowe
Pool by young local artists?
Jayne No, I haven’t... but I’m not a big fan of modern art. It’s all too abstract and messy for my
liking.
Keith I’m chomping at the bit to get down there and have a look. I feel like artists have so few
opportunities to show their talents in public nowadays, so I can’t wait to see this.
Jayne It’s not really my thing. Give me something classical any day!
Keith Oh, you’re so conservative Jayne... My son’s really into his painting these days, so I couldn’t be
more behind this. I can’t wait to take him down to see the murals and get to know some of
the artists.

Jayne I like paintings of course, but I’m more into landscapes. And I prefer a framed canvas to a
spraypainted wall. I’m really looking forward to the new exhibition that’s coming to the town
gallery next month.
Keith Oh you mean the Shankley watercolours. I suppose they’re okay, but I think his earlier stuff
had much more to say.
Jayne Do you mean the paintings from his US days that made his name?
Keith Yes, the Los Angeles paintings, especially the swimming pool acrylics. Those were really
groundbreaking. These watercolours are nice enough but nothing special.
Jayne Well, I think they’re wonderful, whatever you say. And I think it’s admirable the way he’s still
finding new ways to express his vision.

Keith Anyway, I’m sure it’ll be more popular than their last exhibition. I remember the howls of
protest on the letters page of the local paper and the queues of people asking for their
money back.
Jayne The Phillip Rivers exhibition you mean? Yes, it was highly controversial and I heard they paid
a lot to stage it. The tickets certainly weren’t cheap.
Keith Well, what do people expect! A cutting-edge conceptual artist at the top of his game. It really
tickles me the way people are drawn to a name but don’t have the first clue about the art.
Jayne Maybe you’re right but don’t you think some of those mannequins were a little extreme?
Keith I certainly enjoyed watching other people as they went round – some of their expressions
were priceless!

Speaker Welcome to this debate about the impact of digital cameras and social media on
photography. I’m Alice Aldinsky and I work in a camera shop. When I started out
Alice Aldinsky
as a photographer, it was a pastime largely limited to a select group of relatively
affluent individuals due to the high cost of cameras and the need for access to
darkrooms, which presupposed a certain socioeconomic background. The cost of
film, developing, and printing also limited the number of shots one could take.
However, with the introduction of digital cameras, more individuals from all walks
of life have the chance to experiment and practise.
Digital cameras offer instant feedback through their LCD screens, allowing
photographers to review their shots immediately. This immediate feedback loop
enables photographers to adjust their settings and composition on the spot.
However, the true game-changer has been the emergence of social media
platforms, which have provided an unprecedented platform for amateur
photographers. This has broken down the traditional barriers of exposure that
previously only professionals could access. Now, anyone with an internet connection
can share their work, and gain exposure to a global audience.
Speaker Thank you. I’m Bob Buttons and I’m an amateur photographer. Alice has made
some excellent points. However, I take the opposing stance in this debate, arguing

that digital cameras have, in fact, had a detrimental impact on the art form. While
it’s true that digital cameras and social media have made photography more
accessible, they have also diminished the need for skill and artistry.
Before the digital era, photography required a certain level of skill and
understanding of the principles of composition, lighting and exposure. Talented
individuals were able to consistently produce stunning pictures. With the advent of
digital cameras, the barriers to entry were lowered, resulting in an influx of low-
skilled photographers.
Digital cameras allow users to take an astonishing number of images, with the
ability to delete unwanted shots. While this may seem advantageous, it means
photographers no longer have to master their craft. Instead of honing their skills,
individuals can rely on sheer luck, taking numerous shots in the hope that one will
turn out well. The statistics speak for themselves. The average digital camera user
takes over 456 images, but how many of those do they consider good enough to
keep? Research indicates that around 2% of the total shots taken, are deemed
worthy of keeping. That’s not what I would call art.
Speaker Thank you, Bob. My name is Cindy Court and I’m a professional photographer.
Cindy Court I think that technological advancements, coupled with the rise of the internet, have
helped photographers in a number of ways.
Stock photo sites provide a space for photographers to sell their work. While it is
true that their fees are relatively modest – the commission can range anywhere
between 1% and 5% – these platforms do offer a steady revenue stream through
cumulative sales. In the past, the only way to generate income was through
commissions, exhibitions, or working for established publications.
The internet has also led to the emergence of websites that act as intermediaries
between customers and photographers, offering low-cost prints and posters. These
platforms have made it acceptable for individuals to buy and display printed copies
of digital images in their homes, contributing to a growing market.
It’s true that the convenience of digital cameras integrated into smartphones have
contributed to more photos being taken, compared to the analogue era, when
photographers had to plan their shoots carefully. However, it also increases the
likelihood of capturing unique images.
