DO NOT attempt to remove ois printed ckcut boards nt eating Chapter 20-00-00, ELECTROSTATIC DISCHARGE SENSITIVITY. UPPER PEDESTAL PRINTED CIRCUIT BOARDS REMOVAL 1 1 Remove al electrical power rom the airplane and disconnect the battery. b._ Remove he pedestal ight side panel (1) by removing the seven screws (2) that retain the panel othe pedestal structure (4) (Ref Figure 201). 1 Remove the pedestal let side panel (3) by removing the seven screws (2) that retain the panel tothe pedestal structure (). 1. dentiy the printed ccut board) to be removed. Reference the coresponsing electrical relerence designator cals on the card retainers (6) next to each printed circuit board (Re. Figures 207 a 202}, 1 €._ Release the four studs (14) om the stud retainers (6 tha secur th two card retainers (6) to the upper box ‘assembly (7) {Ltt card retainers (6) tom the upper box assembly (7). {Disconnect he electcal connector (8) rom the printed circuit board 9) Insta a cust cover onthe elect comestor. bh. Remove the printed cteut board (9) from the cara gues (10) by careluly sliding the printed cet board straight up aed out ofthe upper box assembly (7) UPPER PEDESTAL PRINTED CIRCUIT BOARDS INSTALLATION All printed cict boards must meet the electrical bonding requirements speciiedin Chaptor 20.0000. A proper bond Between the box assembly and the rack will ensure an adequate ground. ‘Ensure tha al electrical power is removed rom the airplane andthe battery is disconnected b. Remove the dust cover rom the electrical connector (8) (Ref, Figure 201), 1 ©. Carel insert tho printed circuit board (9) nto tho card guide (10). Use the decals on tho card retainer (6) to ‘dently the proper ication of each printed cxcut board (Rel. Figures 201 and 202). 1 1. Connect he electicl connector (8) tothe printed xc board (8) 12. Connect he battery and estore electrical power tothe airplane, LOWER PEDESTAL PRINTED CIRCUIT BOARDS REMOVAL 1. emove al elotical power rom the aiplane and disconnect the battery b. Remove the pedestal right side panel (1) by remaving the seven screws (2 tht retain the pane! tothe pedestal sirvtute (4) (Ret Figure 201) Remove the pedestal lft se panel (3) by removing the seven screws (2) that retain the panel othe pedestal structure (4). 4. dently the lower printed ctcult board to be removed. Determine which box assambly fortard orf) the printed cet board i ecated in. Reference the corresponding electial reference designator decals on he ‘ard retainers nex 1o each printed cxcut board (Ret Figure 202) ‘e. Remove the fou screws (18) and washers (12) that retain each upper box assembly (7) to tho rack (1). (D0 NOT pulton the wire hamess or bend the electrical connectors. 1. Carefully raise the upper box assembly (7) om the rac (1) to gain access tothe pinto circuit boards below. NOTE Hf adequate clearance can not be gained with the wire hamess attached, tag and disconnect the tlectical connectors (8) rom the upper pinted ecut boards (9). The card retainers (6) must be emoved betore the electrical connectors can be disconnected. Alter tho elacircal connectors are ‘econnected,remave the upper box assembly (7) tom the pedestal 1. Release the four studs (14) from the stud retainers (6 that secure the two card retainers (8) tothe lower box assembly (15). Fh. Lite card retainers (6) trom the lower box assombly (18) |. Disconnect he electrical connector (8) from the printed circuit board (9). Remove the cust cover rom the electrical connector (8) (Ret. Figure 201), CAUTION] DO NOT pulion the wire hamess or bend the electrical connectors. NOTE Ensure thatthe screws (19) and washers (12) have been removed belore raising the upper box assembly (7) Wom th rack (11) . Careluly raise the upper box assembly (7 to gain access tothe card guides 10) nthe lower box assembly (15). 4, Carefully inser the printed ccut board (2) into the cara guides (10). Use the decals onthe card retainer to ‘cantty the proper locaton of each printed creut board (Rel. Figures 20% and 202}, ‘2 Connect tho elactcal comectr (8) 10 the printed cult board (8). {Secure the printed ciel boards (2) and electical connectors (8) by instaling the wo card retainers (6) othe lower box assembly (15) with to four stu (14) and stud retainers (5). ‘9, Attach the upper box assembly (7 to tho rack 11) withthe our serows (13) and washers (12). Connect the fiectrcal connectors (8) tothe upper printed creut boards (9) they were dleconnected during removal Ensure ‘that ho card retainers (6) ae instal. Insta the pedestal ight side panol (1) wth the seven screws (2). |. Install the pedestal et side pane! (9) wh the seven screws (2) |.
