Instructions: Answer the following questions after accomplishing the Self-Efficacy Metric
for the Attainment of the Standards for Teachers and the discussions on PPST.
1) What new thing did you learn about PPST?
The Philippine Professional Standards for teachers is a set of standards of different
career stages that provides a framework for the teacher development continuum. It
provides career path from Beginning Teacher to Distinguished Teacher. It describe
the expectations of teacher’s increasing level of knowledge, practice and professional
engagement.

2) What career stage are you heading in the PPST? Why?

I’m heading in my career stage as HIGHLY PROFICIENT TEACHER. It is because I
know it will give me career experiences and opportunities that will make me grow as
a teacher. Also, ever since I was deployed, I always wanted to collaborate with my
colleagues and provide them support and mentoring to enhance their learning and
practice.

3) What should you do to enhance your competencies to meet the standards for
beginning/proficient teachers set in the PPST?
Always have a room for leaning. As we all know, learning is a continuous process. I
must equip myself with knowledge that will make me fit in the set of standards of
PPST. I must attend seminars, undergo trainings, and pursue higher education to
update my knowledge about the content of the curriculum and to gain knowledge
about the different teaching strategies that is sensitive to learner’s gender and
culture.
