‫מבוא‬
‫בבוקר של יום שבת‪-‬שמחת תורה ה‪ 7/10/2023 -‬קמתי בתחושה מוזרה‬
‫שהולך לקרות משהו תוך זמן קצר‪ .‬הסתכלתי לגמרי במקרה ברשת ‪ X‬וקראתי‬
‫פוסט של העיתונאי* נדב אייל שהזכיר את הסדרה שלו בערוץ ‪ 10‬לשעבר‬
‫בטלוויזיה‪ ,‬בשם "אוכלת יושביה"‪ .‬ראיתי ב"יו טיוב" חלק מהסידרה אשר‬
‫במרכזה התרחשו דברים נוראים כגון רצח אזרחים ולקיחת בני ערובה‪ .‬באותו‬
‫שלב‪ ,‬תוך כדי שאני רואה את הסדרה הזאת על איך יוגוסלביה התפרקה‬
‫למדינות לאומיות שקיימות כיום‪ ,‬בדיוק אז שמעתי בתדהמה את האזעקה‬
‫שהושמעה בקולי קולות בשעה ‪ 6:30‬בבוקר במרכז הארץ‪ .‬באותו רגע התחילה‬
‫"מתקפת הפתע" בגבול בין עזה לישראל‪ .‬מאות מחבלים של חמאס פרצו את‬
‫הגדר ותקפו את יישובי "עוטף עזה"‪.‬‬

‫אני מקדיש את הכרך הזה לתושבי הדרום‪ ,‬תושבי הצפון‪ ,‬תושבי עוטף עזה‪,‬‬
‫לכלל אזרחי ישראל ולכוחות הבטחון‪ ,‬היקרים והגיבורים שלנו !!!‬

Introduction
Early Saturday morning the 7/10/2023 I woke up with a strange
feeling that something is going to happen in a short time. I looked
completely by chance on Site X of the Internet and I read a post by
the journalist* Nadav Eyal who mentioned his former Channel 10
series called "Eats its inhabitants". At the YouTube site I saw part
of the series that in the center of which terrible things happened
like killing of civilians and the taking of hostages. At this stage,
while I'm watching the series about how Yugoslavia broke up into
national states that exist today, I heard with astonishment the
alarm that was sounded loudly at 6:30 in the morning, in the
central area of Israel. At that moment, the "surprise attack" began
on the border between Gaza and Israel. Hundreds of Hamas
terrorists breached the fence and attacked the kibbutzim and
moshavim surrounding the Gaza Strip.

I dedicate this volume to the residents of the south, of the

north, to all citizens of Israel in general and residents of the
Gaza Surroundings in particular and to the security forces,
our dear ones and heroes!!!

written by reporter* of "Yediot Ahronot" Israel Wolman on what
happend in 7/10/2023 (credit to Israel Wolman):

"The excessive enthusiasm for the technology leap is tremendous

and sweeps us all away: simple civilians, huge companies and
also military and security organizations in the world. The IDF
operates on the border fence in Gaza the most advanced
technologies with an investment of billions: motion and touch
sensors, sophisticated cameras, remotely operated firing positions
and sophisticated listening equipment. But this line of defense, the
splendor of Israeli high-tech, was hacked by Hamas forces which
used cheap and basic weapon equipment. Over-reliance on
technology without understanding that it also has weaknesses –
it's a big mistake," says Major General in the Reserve* Prof.
Yitzhak Ben Israel. "I warned officials in the IDF against this policy.
I wasn't the only one who had that feeling including also a lot of
other people in the technological environment."
"Even the best and most talented "military watcher" has no way to
manage an event after sniping at her camera, or she announces in
the communication system and there is no answer" – that's how
she concluded in one sentence an IDF "military watcher" who
survived the inferno in the south, this terrible system failure. The
collapsed defensive line was based entirely on technology –
actually on a collection of technologies. Some are the best in their
field in the world, some of them are the pride of Israeli high-tech,
which should have at least alerted and provide primary protection.
There were a deep underground obstacle, touch-sensitive

inductive upper fence, a sophisticated camera array, surface and

underground motion and contact sensors, cellular antennas in
listening towers and of course automatic watching-sniping
positions, such as a tower with a machine gun on top, which is
activated remotely when needed by the IDF watch-women. These
operators are sitting in the division headquarters in front of screens
and are supposed to identify any movement on the border.
The virtual high-tech wall, this super-progressive obstacle, Hamas
overthrew in an instant by means most of which came into use
already in the First World War, except one: drones that today can
be purchased at any gadget store. 35 drones, as mentioned by
Hamas, took part in the opening strike, including a "suicide drone"
that hovered above the towers with the machine guns and
eliminated them. The cameras in the broadcasting and listening
towers were destroyed by anti-tank fire, the massive fence was
blown up with heavy explosives, power and communication cables
were simply cut. The front control system was silent at once. The
simple rule established in the 18th century by Carl von Clausevitz,
from the forefathers of modern military concepts, works even in the
age of the Internet and artificial intelligence: the side that manages
to ride fast enough large forces at a certain point, in a surprise, will
be able to throw the opponent off balance.

What could be done to back up at least the technological
means?
Today we are wise after the fact, but ask any lieutenant in the
army: with hundreds of terrorists they breach a fence and within a
few minutes they arrive at the kibbutz – what technology can stop
it? I repeat the things I am ashamed to say, because they are
completely basic: every military body should ask itself 'what will
happen if I don't get an alert? If there will be any kind of failure in

‫‪the systems, I rely on them today'. There will always be such‬‬

‫"!‪blunders, only this time it cost us enormously‬‬

‫ושמענו בקשר שהרבה מחבלים מתקרבים לגדר‪ ,‬ונסענו בטנק של המ"מ שלי‪.‬‬
‫המ"מ שלי עלה לעמדת אש ‪ 106‬ואנחנו נסענו לגדר לכיוון עמדת אש ‪. 91‬‬

‫הטנק התמלא בעשן‪ ,‬פתחתי מדף נהג וברחתי עם הטנק תוך כדי שיורים על‬
‫הטנק טילי נ״ט ללא הפסקה‪.‬‬
‫התחלתי לנסוע לכיוון המדינה‪ ,‬ועצרתי בדרך בשביל לבדוק אם התותחן שלי‬
‫במקרה עדיין בחיים‪ ,‬וכשעצרתי הטען שלי אופיר טסטה צעק לי ״סומך״ והבנתי‬
‫שהוא בחיים‪ .‬יצאתי מהר מתא הנהג וראיתי אותו שוכב על הצריח מלא בכוויות‬
‫מכף רגל ועד ראש ובסוג של הלם קרב‪ ,‬אמרתי לו להיכנס לטנק ובדקתי את‬
‫התותחן שלי )אריאל אליהו( שהיה לו דופק חלש מאוד והוא נשם ממש חלש‪,‬‬
‫אז ניסיתי לחלץ אותו מהטנק בזמן שהטען שלי אופיר טסטה היה על הצריח‪.‬‬
‫שמתי לב שככל שאני מושך אותו כך אני גם מוריד ממנו את עורו השרוף‪.‬‬
‫אופיר טסטה‪ ,‬שהיה על הצריח‪ ,‬קלט שרכב צה"לי מתקרב לכיווננו‪ ,‬סימנו לרכב‬
‫הצה"לי לעצור במטרה שיעזור לנו‪ .‬הוא עצר לידנו ויצאו ממנו שני מחבלים‪,‬‬
‫הטען שלי אופיר טסטה קפץ חזרה לטנק וצעק לי שזה מחבל‪ ,‬נכנסתי מהר‬
‫לתא נהג דרסתי אותו ואת הרכב ונמלטנו משם‪ ,‬המחבל השני פתח עלינו באש‬
‫אך לא פגע בנו‪.‬‬
‫בסופו של דבר לאחר הרבה זמן נסיעה הגענו לאיזור קיבוץ "רעים"‪ ,‬שם‬
‫התקיימה מסיבה בשם ״הנובה״‪ ,‬וראינו שם באיזור קרב ירי של מחבלים מול‬
‫שוטרים אשר בו נראה כי המחבלים מנצחים‪ .‬חסמתי את המחבלים עם הטנק‬
 ‫‪21‬‬

‫שלא יפגעו בשוטרים‪ ,‬והטען שלי אופיר טסטה שהיה בסוג של הלם קרב יצא‬
‫מהטנק ללא הנשק שלו והלך לשוטרים‪.‬‬
‫לאחר מספר דקות ראיתי את המחבלים מסתובבים מסביב לטנק בביטחון‬
‫והבנתי שהשוטרים מתו והטען שלי גם‪ .‬אני לא יודע בוודאות פשוט לא ראיתי‬
‫אף חייל או שוטר בחיים‪.‬‬
‫לכיוון ‪ M16‬ראיתי שטיפסו לי על הטנק כ‪ 5-10-‬מחבלים והייתי מוכן לראות‬
‫דרך פתח המפקד שהיה הפתח היחידי‪ ,‬ראיתי מחבל משם שגילה שיש חייל חי‬
‫בתוך הטנק‪ ,‬הוא נבהל וזרק עליי את הנשק שלו‪ ,‬ובתגובה יריתי בו וחיסלתי‬
‫אותו‪.‬‬
‫לאחר מכן נכנסתי מהר לתא נהג בזמן שזרקו לי כמה רימונים לתוך הטנק‪,‬‬
‫חלקם התפוצצו וחלקם לא‪ .‬למזלי הספקתי להכנס לתא הנהג‪ ,‬הרגשתי את‬
‫ההדף ושמעתי את קולות הפיצוץ ובמזל לא נפגעתי מהם‪.‬‬
‫נסעתי משם תוך כדי שאני דורס מחבלים ועושה המון בלאגן עם הטנק בכדי‬
‫להעיף אותם ממני דרסתי כמה רכבים נטושים והמשכתי להתרחק מהאיזור עד‬
‫שהטנק כבר כמעט לא זז וכל החלק האחורי של הטנק עולה באש‪ .‬הטנק נעצר‬
‫בדקתי שוב את הדופק של התותחן שלי )אריאל אליהו( שהפעם לא היה לו‬
‫דופק והפסיקו לו הנשימות‪ ,‬יצאתי מהטנק הבנתי שאין לי ברירה אלא לעזוב את‬
‫הטנק העולה באש ושיש מחבלים בעקבותיו‪.‬‬
‫יצאתי עם קסדה שכפ"צ ונשק‪ ,‬פגשתי שלושה אזרחים שלאחד מהם ירו בחזה‬
‫והוא נפטר ככל הנראה‪ ,‬עוד אחד שירו לו בישבן ועוד אחד שלא נפגע‪ ,‬הם היו‬
‫מאוד לחוצים‪ .‬הכנסתי אותם אל הרכב שלהם ונסענו משם כשאני נוהג‪ ,‬לפי מה‬
‫שזכור לי שמם היה צורי ואביעד‪ .‬נסענו דקות אחדות עד ששמנו לב שאנחנו‬
‫מכותרים‪ .‬בשלב הזה התחלפתי עם צורי שינהג מכיוון שלי היה נשק ויכולתי‬
‫לתפעל במידת הצורך‪ .‬נעצרנו באיזשהו שלב באמצע היער והתחבאנו חצי גוף‬
‫מתחת לרכב שלהם‪ .‬לאחר ‪ 40‬דקות בערך שאנחנו שומעים הרבה צעקות של‬
‫ערבים והרבה ירי‪ ,‬העמדנו פני מתים‪ ,‬כחמישה מחבלים לא חמושים התקדמו‬
‫לכיווני וחשבו שאני מת וניסו לקחת לי את הנשק‪ ,‬יריתי וחיסלתי את אחד‬
‫המחבלים שניסו לקחת לי את הנשק‪ .‬נאבקתי בהם תוך כדי שהם דופקים לי‬
‫סלעים לראש‪ ,‬שברו לי את הלסת‪ ,‬ארובת העין‪ ,‬הלחי‪ ,‬האף והמון שיניים‪,‬‬
‫וחתכו אותי עם סכין‪ ,‬ובזכות זה שהייתי עם קסדה הם לא הרגו אותי אלא רק‬
‫פצעו אותי קשה‪ .‬הצלחתי להדוף אותם בכל כוחותי אך הם הצליחו לחטוף לי‬
‫את הנשק וניסו לירות בי אך לא הצליחו‪ ,‬אני לא יודע למה‪.‬‬
‫ברחתי במשך כמה דקות עד שהגעתי לשיח שבו התחבאו גבר ואישה‪ ,‬בת‬
‫שבע מ"אושר" ועילי מלכה‪ .‬התחבאתי איתם בעודי פצוע במצב כזה במשך‬
‫בערך שש שעות שבהם מחבלים עברו על יד השיח ובמזל לא הסתכלו ימינה‬
‫וראו אותנו‪ .‬במהלך השש שעות המשכתי לדמם מהפנים‪ ,‬הם עזרו לי מאוד וגם‬
‫זיהו מתי הגיע החילוץ והרבה בזכותם אני חי‪.‬‬
‫בזמן שטופלתי בסורוקה ניגש אליי אזרח פצוע קל מריסיסים והחל לברר האם‬
‫אני הטנקיסט שהצליח להסיח את דעתם של המחבלים ובזכותו הציל מאות‬
‫באירוע המסיבה‪".‬‬

Quote from the testimony* of tank 2B driver, Ido Somech, Malchut
Hermon – Battalion 77, about what happened on 7/10/2023 (credit

"Around 7 o'clock in the morning we had a bounce due to Purple

Rain, we got into the tanks and we heard through the
communication means that many terrorists were approaching the
fence and we drove in my commander's tank. My commander went
up to firing station 106 and we drove to the fence towards the firing
station 91. At the fence we encountered around ten to fifteen
terrorists we eliminated them with shells and ran over one. After
we eliminated them, dozens of terrorists started to enter the
territory of the country, they fired an anti-tank missile at my tank to
the commander of my tank Shay Levinson who flew out from the
turret and was apparently killed. My gunner Ariel Eliahu remained
in the tank, but at the same time he appeared to be dead and my
shell loader Ofir Testa also flew from the tank and I thought he was
also killed while the tank caught fire from behind. The tank was

filled with smoke, I opend the driver's cover and ran away with the
tank while anti-tank missiles were being fired at it non-stop. I
started driving towards our country and stopped on the way to
check with my gunner, in case, he was still alive. When I stopped,
my shells loader Ofir Testa shouted at me "Somech", I realized he
was alive. I quickly got out of the driver's cab and saw him lying on
the turret full of pillows from head to toe and in a kind of battle
shock. I told him to get into the tank and I checked my gunner Ariel
Eliahu who had a very weak pulse and he sounded realy weak, so
I tried to get him out of the tank while my shells loader, Ofir Testa,
was still lying on the turret. I noticed that the more I pulled him, the
more I took off his burnt skin. Ofir Testa, who was on the turret,
realized that an IDF vehicle was approaching in our direction. The
vehicle stopped next to us and two terrorists got out of it and then,
my shells loader Ofir Testa jumped back into the tank and shouted
that this one was a terrorist. I quickly got back in and run over the
terrorist and over the vehicle too. While the second terrorist shot at
us and did not hit, we escaped from there.

In the end, after a long time of driving we arrived at the area of

Kibbutz Reyim, were a party called the Nova was taking place. We
saw a shootout between terrorists and police in the area in which it
seems that the terrorists are winning. I blocked the terrorists with
the tank so they wouldn't hit the policemen and my shells loader
Ofir Testa, who was in a kind of battle shock, got out of the tank
without his weapon and went to the policemen. After a fiew
minutes, I saw the terrorists moving around the tank confidently
and I realized that the policemen were dead and my shells loader
was dead too. I don't know for sure but I did not see any policeman
or soldier alive. In the direction of ledge M16 I saw that about 5 to
10 terrorists had climbed on to my tank and saw through the
commander's opening one terrorist who discovered that there was
a live soldier in the tank, he got scared and threw his weapon at
me and in response I shot and killed him.

After that, I quickly got into the driver's cabin while they threw a
number of grenades into the tank, some exploded and some didn't.
Luckily I managed to get in the driver's cabin I felt the impact and

heard the sound of the explosions and luckily I wasn't hurt by

them. I drove away while running over terrorists and making a lot
of mess with the tank to throw them off me. I ran over several
abandoned vehicles and continued to move away from the area
until the tank hardly moved anymore and it's all rear part was on
fire. The tank stopped, I checked again the pulse of my gunner,
Ariel Eliahu and he did not have any pulse and stopped breathing.
I got out of the tank, I realize that I had no choice but to live the
tank that was on fire and that there were terrorists following it.

I went out with a helmet, bulletproof vest and a weapon. I met

three civilians, one of them was shot on his chest and apparently
died, a second one was shot on his behind and a third was not hit
at all, but they were under great pressure. I put them in their car
and we drove away with me driving. According to what I remember
their names were Tzuri and Aviad. We drove for a few minutes
until we noticed that we were surrounded. At this point I switched
with Tzuri who would drive since I had the weapon and could use it
if necessary. We then stopped in the middle of the forest and hid
with half of our bodies under their car. After about 40 minutes of
hearing a lot of shouting in Arabic, we pretended to be dead while
five unarmed terrorists advanced in my direction and thought I was
dead and they tried to take my weapon. Then, I shot one of them,
killed him and continued to fight with them. They pounded rocks on
my head, broke my jaw, my eye socket, cheek, nose and lots of
teeth, they cut me with a knife, and thanks to the fact that I was
wearing a helmet, they didn't kill me but hurt me very hard. I
managed to fight them off with all my strength, but they managed
to grab my weapon and tried to kill me, but they did'nt succeed, I
don't know why.

I run for a few minutes until I reached a bush where a man and a
woman were hiding, Bat Sheva from "Osher" and Ely Malka. I hid
with them for six hours while terrorists passed by the bush and
luckily they didn't look to the right and see us. During the six hours
while I was bleeding from my face, this couple helped me a lot and
recognized when rescue arrived and thanks to them I am alive.

While I was being treated in Soroka hospital, a person who was

slightly wounded by shrapnel approached me and asked if I was
the soldier who managed with his tank to distract the terrorists and
thanks to him saved a lot of people at the party event."

foreign reporters who reported to the world about the harsh scenes
in the Otef. The report of the 24-year-old Jewish reporter went viral
across the web and drew many reactions. "This coverage took a
heavy mental toll", she told to YNET in tears, she talked about the
soldier who turned to comfort her and also she added:"We saw a
life that ended, a baby's crib covered in blood and bullet castings
all over the ground." Tzedek reported from Kfar Gaza on the
international news channel that broadcasts from Israel to the
world, in English, French and Arabic, that 40 cchildren and babys
were murdered in cold blood by the hated Hamas terrorists. "An
IDF officer who arrived at the scene among the first told us that he
saw babies and women with their heads cut off. The murder was
so crazy with firearms, knives and more", she said. The journalist

Gaza. Maya told me that the worst scenario is the one that every
spotter and commander train on it, only million times worse,
happened. So yes, yesterday a disaster happened and they were
the first to grab the ricochets as always and it hurts my heart. They

are always the first in everything, the first to see, the first to report
and the first to be criticized. Let there be no doubt that these girls,
unfortunately I saw a video with their last moments, are shaking
with fear. They want to give their lives for this country, for this area
at the border, they knew every inch of it and they are friends for
life. They were supposed to call for a few more years, like Maya to
me, one to another and hear what's new. They were supposed to
go to their rooms and gossip about which reporting line was an
intrusion. They supposed to eat Malauach together at 4 o'clock in
the morning even though they wanted a salad, but not yesterday,
because their universe collapsed. Everyone's friends were
murdered, kidnapped, injured and their lives destroyed on the
blackest day the State of Israel has ever known.

was happening, I realized that I don't have enough room in my

condact collection, exposure, enemy identification and reporting,

and praise. When Shabat ended, I started sending messages
praying to see a sign of life, waiting to see a blue V to see

My heart is broken! Everyone who answers relieves me of a little

worry and everywere the girls saved themselves it's really another
medicine for the heart, more water to quench the inexplicable
dryness of my body. I received questions in private, I read
shocking responses, how could it be, where they were and even
worse accusitions. This is the time to stand on both feet and say
out clearly and loud: the spotters are a skilled professional force
with crazy discipline. I have no doubt that they did everything and
beyond expectations. I beleved and I believe in them in an
unequivocal way. If I were in their place, I would probably already
organize escape missions from the base and try to save as many
as possible when it was clear that there is no operational response
localy. But they stayed until the last moment because they don't
know the concept of abandonment. The spotters truly believed that
it was like any other valid event when the intruders are stopped
and the watching mission will go back to normal. My heart is
broken, apparently there are some who disappeared, there are
others kidnapped and are also those who were murdered, my
heart can't understand it! I didn't have time to mourn my
grandmother, I still can't write about her because my heart is
broken and varied, suddenly our daughters are here on the cracks
of my heart.

I don't know how to tell to Yehuda, the girls who he's used to meet
every month, the amount of bags he's used to make, the smiles
and hugs we are used to get, everything will now be different, not
like in the past. But we are here, we will accompany them even in

"Chen, Moriah, Ori Nitzan and Ariel, the medical team of Karakal
Battalion, were alerted on Saturday to Sufa and the close area to
provide treatment to the IDF fighters. They told us about those
moments: Saturday, at approximately 7 AM we were alerted and
we began to reduce the distance towards the Otef to have
increased availability for medical treatment in the Otef settlements.
After about an hour and a half we arrived to "Sufa" area. There we
provided medical attention to dozens of civilians and fighters, who
were injured, during that incident with the terrorists from Gaza.

We rowed for treatment in a threatened place and to evacuate the

wounded, as quickly as possible, to helicopters where they will
continue to be treated and transported to the hospital."
