1) Crane operator observes that occupants are incapable of communicating Supervisor
and contacts the Supervisor or Rigger.
1) Supervisor instructs crane operator to lower cradle to the ground Supervisor

3) Supervisor commences medical treatment process. Supervisor

SENARIO 1 - ACCESS AVAILABLE FOR RESCUE CRANE AND
CRADLE
1) Supervisor to assess situation – ENSURE THAT OCCUPANTS ARE Supervisor

2) Occupants in cradle to remain calm – Supervisor to participate in the Supervisor
calming process.
3) Stop all related activities in the immediate area Supervisor/Safety Officer
4) Immobilize the crane. Crane operator
5) Ensure that unauthorized entry cannot be gained to the crane. Crane operator
6) Summons a suitable crane and cradle into which the occupants can Site Manager
transfer.
7) Provide safe access for the rescue crane and lifting area. Supervisor
8) Barricade the rescue lifting area. Supervisor
9) Rescue crane raise rescue cradle to marooned/stranded cradle. Rigger
10) Occupants transfer to rescue cradle - safely Supervisor
11) Rescue crane lowers occupants to the ground Rigger

SENARIO 2 – ACCESS NOT AVAILABLE FOR RESCUE CRANE AND

CRADLE
1) Supervisor prepares suitable area for the erection of scaffold Supervisor
2) Scaffold erectors erect scaffold to cradle Supervisor
3) Scaffold inspector inspects scaffold Supervisor
4) Occupants transfer from cradle to scaffold safely Supervisor
5) Occupants descend scaffold to ground Supervisor
Cradle becomes lodged in/on SENARIO 1 - ACCESS AVAILABLE FOR RESCUE CRANE AND
