1. I welcome the worthy Managing Director at NCP site to witness the
growth of the sprout of 2
nd
Line and its transformation to a strong tree
under the kind auspices of our superiors for which, on this auspicious
occasion, we are thankful to them.

2. While passing through the process of servicing, erection and
commissioning the equipment, we have encountered with countless
problems, some of them confronting suddenly and most of them
constantly hovering over as the equipment has been kept stored for
approx 4 years, exacerbating the gravity of problems. The situation
summoned quick decisions, swift procurements, getting the PLCs
reprogrammed from manufacturers abroad and getting replacements of
modules. By the Grace of God and timely help of our superiors, we
could overcome the impediments continuously militating against our
success.

3. By the Grace of God we have commissioned the entire plant from Raw
Material Storage yard to Packing & Despatch with only one problem of
high temperature of Cement Mill outlet bearing, which also be, Isaha-
Allah, sorted out in a day or so. After the start up, the process of
commissioning was pushed slow by CBMC therefore it was decided
jointly by CBMC - AWT that NCP will take over the operation upto
clinkering with Chinese as advisors. The clinkering operation, which is the
most sensitive area, has now, by the Grace of God, achieved smooth
continuous and sustained clinkering operation.

Approx 27420 Tons of Raw material & 17000 M.Tons of clinker has been
produced so far and 2610 Tons of bagged Cement has been despatched.

4. The problem of high temperature of outlet bearing of Cement Mill is
being removed by CBMC. they have been trying hard to call the
manufacturers engineer, but the manufacturer did not respond. We expect
to complete their activity in a day or so.

5. The commissioning engineer for Roller Press and Packing Plant are
also not sent by the manufacturers. The Packing Plant has been
commissioned by NCP- CBMC jointly. The Roller Press has also been
programmed and will be commissioned by CBMC-NCP.

6. Commissioning of Kiln Shell Scanner.
The company in China who has designed the software & password has
closed down & this information is not available in documents available
with CBMC. The visiting Vice President CBMC has arranged a password
for trial. We are working on it to access the software.

7. 20-26 MVA transformer the transformer is under repair at Siemens
works at Karachi and its core, winding & top changers etc are being
replaced. It is schedule tom be ready be end July 2003.
