What is Presentation Software?


Presentation software packages allow you to create a
multimedia product using a series of slides.(sequenced
words, pictures)
 Text, images, video, animations, links, sound can be
combined on each slide to create a sophisticated product.
 It has three major functions
1) An editor-allows text to be inserted and formatted
2) Method for inserting and manipulating graphic images
3) Slide show system to display content
It contains animations effects, slides, slide master, transitions,
slide notes

What does the word “REGGAE” mean?


How did the word come about?

Bob Marley is said to have claimed that the Bunny Lee claims to have been there from the
word reggae came from a Spanish beginning and he and his team came up with
the word reggae in 1968,and that reggae came
term for "the king's music". 
from the word streggae.

Mento
• Jamaican music that is largely unknown outside of that is the
grandpappy of reggae. For a ska or reggae fans, mento
sounds familiar and exotic and unfamiliar
• It was also made of  pan-Caribbean influences, as well as from
American jazz. Although it was informed by a world of music,
mento is clearly, uniquely Jamaican. And as Jamaica's original
music, all other Jamaican music can trace its roots to mento.
• It features acoustic instruments such as acoustic guitar,
banjo, hand drums and the rhumba box.(carries bass part of
the music.
• Similar to calypso it uses tropical lyrics, humorous slant,
commenting on poverty and social issues of the Caribbean
with a sprinkle of sexual innuendos being commonly used.

 Ska
A genre of Jamaican music which comes from mento and
calypso music, combined with American jazz and R&B , which
could be heard on Jamaican radio 
 The music is upbeat, quick and exciting.
 ska bands featured bass, drums, guitars, keyboards and horns
(with saxophone, trombone and trumpet being most
common).
 Clement "Coxsone" Dodd is one of the most important figures
in ska history. He was not a musician.

Rocksteady
 Rocksteady came about in Jamaica in the
1960’s
 Its craze only lasted for a couple of years
 It is derived from ska music.-American jazz,
mento, R&B
 It has a slower and mellower beat than ska
 Music was popular for street dancing but not
like ‘skanking’
 Later evolved into reggae

 A style of popular Jamaican music blending blues,
calypso, rock and roll. It is characterised by strong
compact rhythms and lyrics of social protest. Its
origins are in traditional African and Caribbean
music and Jamaican ska and Rocksteady
