Narration: You may ask yourself, why does this matter? Times
have changed from when an employee would stay with one
company their whole working career regardless of the working
environment. Reasons that employees choose to look for new
places of employment is growth, money, leadership, etc. Employees
don’t automatically leave for more money – and if asked why they
are leaving, what got them to look in the first place, they will usually
tell you it’s their management. That’s why it matters.

when they need to take a step back. A true leader who is self-aware, can
take the situation, de-escalate it, and then come back with a response that is
right for all.

Narration: This type of calm, self-reflecting leadership is a

plus for employees and creates a good working or learning
environment. The employees will emulate this behavior and
will show their own emotional growth because of it. Even if
employees choose to leave, they will take what they’ve
learned and apply it to their new employment and that can
only be a win for everyone!
