 Is Your Emergency Preparedness Kit Ready?

Being prepared means being equipped with the proper

supplies you may need in the event of an emergency or disaster.
Weather-related disasters can happen at any time, which is why
it is important to be prepared ahead of time. Part of this
preparedness includes having a preparedness kit.
You can buy a premade kit, but I think it’s easier AND
CHEAPER to create a DIY first aid kit specific for the types of
activities or situations you’ll encounter.
 At a minimum, you should have the basic supplies listed below: water;one
gallon per person, per day, non-perishable food, flashlight and medical items,
sanitation and personal hygiene items, copies of personal documents
(medication list and pertinent medical information, proof of address, deed/lease
to home, passports, birth certificates, insurance policies),cell phone with
chargers, family and emergency contact information,
extra cash and emergency blanket.
Keep your supplies in an easy-to-carry emergency preparedness kit that
you can use at home or take with you in case you must evacuate. Having a first
aid kit ready in your home can help prevent an injury from getting worse and
can potentially save any trips to a walk-in clinic or hospital.
Ultimately, having a DIY first aid kit can help provide you and your loved ones
some peace of mind.
