Math: We will continue to work on addition and subtraction strategies with basic facts and 2-digit addends. We are working hard on creating equations to match the story problems and using a box or symbol to represent the unknown. Science: We will continue to work on a unit on the sun, moon, and stars.

*Dont forget to sign your childs planner and behavior log nightly! *Encourage your child to look at the moon and record it on their Moon Calendars! It is important that they are actually observing it, not you.

Common Core Tip of the Week Write an equation for your child with a box representing an unknown in an equation. They should use the equation to create a story problem. Ex: + 18 = 52. The story problem to match could say Jan had some boxes of cookies. She bought 18 more and now has 52. How many boxes did she have before buying more?
