Religion: We are learning more about Advent, the

Christmas story, and Our Lady of Guadalupe. We
gathered with 1st, 2nd, and 3rd graders for an
Advent prayer service celebrating the third week of
Advent. We listened to the scripture story of Jesus
birth. The 3rd graders acted out the story of Juan
Diego and Our Lady of Guadalupe.
Reading: We are working with short and long
vowel sounds. We are reading and writing words
with silent e. We are working with adding the word
endings ing and ed to short and long vowel
words. We wrote in our December journals. Mr.
Slawik and our 5th grade buddies were our guest
readers on Friday.

between addition sentences and subtraction

the animals that live there. The habitats are ocean,
