This location is based near our college so it is easy to access. We are familiar with the surroundings so we can navigate around the area easily. It is an active public place with lots of people. However, the vast amount of traffic and pedestrians can affect our filming. Sometimes we need silence to build up the tension in our film.
Sir John McDougal Gardens
121 Westferry Road E14
This location is easily accessible. It has
a riverbank, which will be useful for our filming when the Jack in the box is thrown down. However, when filming there may be issues regarding people because this area gets busy during the evening when people leave work. So we will have to work around this to make sure it does not affect our filming.
Blue Bridge West India Lock
There will be appropriate sound since it
is a quiet area with less traffic and pedestrians. However, there is a safety risk because the bridge is rather high. We might need permission to use it.
Conclusion: We will use the Mile End Bridge location because it is
perfect for our first scene where the girl is running and the next scene when the group of friends are socialising. It is also easy to access since it is right next to our sixth form. Location for: Street
Potential location: Stepney Way London E1 0RH
Positives and negatives about location:
This road will be useful because we want the atmosphere of a school setting. It is close to us so we can easily access it. The road can get really busy during school hours with lots of student so it might be difficult the film. With another secondary school nearby, Stepney Green School, it might cause further difficulties.
Harley Grove Road
E3 2AT
This road is right outside our school so it
is easily accessible. We also have the school atmosphere, which is needed, in our filming. However, the road can get really busy during school hours with lots of vehicles, parents and children so it might be difficult the film. There may be safety risk.
Conclusion: We will use the Harley Grove Road because it is situated
near sixth form so we can easily film our footage. It also has appropriate mise-en-scene because we need a school setting.
Location for: Secondary School Playground
Potential location: Sir John Cass Sixth Form Stepney Way E1 0H
Positives and negatives about location:
This school is easy to get to because it is located near us. We also know students from here that can help us with filming. However, we might not have access to go in because we are external students from another college. We might have to receive consent from the Head.
Central Foundation Girls School
25-33 Bow Rd, London E3 2AE
We attend this school so it will be easy to
film because we know our way around and do not need any permission. It has appropriate mise-en-scene for a realistic school setting. However, the school playground can get very busy which can disrupt our filming or there may be issues trying to get external students inside the school.
Cambridge Heath Sixth Form
Hadleigh Street, E2 0LD
It is a local college so it is easy to access.
However, there may be potential problems trying to enter the sixth form because we are external students.
Conclusion: We will be use Central Foundation School for our filming
because it is our sixth form so we know our way around. We can access things more easily with the support of teachers. It also has appropriate mise-en-scene for a realistic school playground.
Location for: Park
Potential location: Greenwich Park SE10 8QY
Positives and negatives about location:
It is a big park so we have plenty of space to film. We are familiar with the surroundings because we go there in our own time. Many people visit it each day so it is safe to use. However, the parts of the park that we may need t use may be busy.
Mile End Park
Bow, E3
This park is located right near our
college so we can easily access it. We know our way round so we wont get lost. There is appropriate mise-en-scene for a sociable setting with friends. However, there are potential risks of injury with the river and bridge near by so must be careful with our filming.
Victoria Park Bow, E3 5TB
This park is always active with lots of
people, which means that it has appropriate sound and mise-en-scene for a realistic park setting. However, it can get too busy sometimes with lots of children and parents, which can be a hazard to our filming.
Conclusion: We will be using Mile End Park because it is a sociable
setting used by the teenagers who are playing part in our film. As we will be filming in the night, it can be frightening since it gets very dark so it will add that horror element, conforming to the horror genre.
This tunnel will be useful for our filming because it is easy to access and it is long enough for someone to be running through it. It also has appropriate miseen-scene for a scary setting as tunnel. However, as we havent been to the location personally we might find that there are issues that can restrict our filming.
Bromley by Bow tunnel
London E3
When night falls it can get really dark
which is useful for our mise-en-scene to create that horror effect. However, many people use this tunnel in the evening so it can get busy which will affect our filming.
Tom Thumbs Arch
Bow, E3 2DT
This tunnel is much more smaller but it
has a scary element to it when it is dark. It is located near our sixth form so it is easy to get to. However, the tunnel may be too short which will affect our filming because we need a long tunnel for when our character is running.
Conclusion: We will use the Greenwich tunnel because it has
appropriate mise-en-scene for a sinister dark setting when the boy
is running away from the ghost. It is also long enough for our filming.
