Challenge 1: Please briefly describe your experiences during the activity. What happened?
What did you feel? How did you react? What did you notice about types of questions you
asked?

During the activity, we were tasked to determine the shape of meteor from the perspective of
just 1 village. The handouts were meant to throw us off by giving a view from a different village. I
felt confused at first trying to make the connections between the shapes. I communicated with
my team and tried to make sense of the given evidences.
Challenge 2: What connections can you make between the challenges you were presented with
and the approach you used to gaining more information? Can you briefly explain how your own
internal motivations or willingness to ask questions influenced the types of questions you asked
and how you asked them?
The connection I can make is that the activity is trying to teach us to see things from another
persons perspective or shoes. We elected a village rep to talk to other villages and gather
info. We were incredulous with the information given to us by the rep. In actuality, we should
have elected more than 1 just to have more eyes.

Challenge 3: Imagine that you were trying to better understand the motivations behind a
teammates behavior when working together. If they were behaving in a way you did not expect,
what kinds of questions would you ask to get a better picture of their intentions and motivations?
Who would you ask or where would you look for answers?
I would ask that individual in a coutrteous and dignified manner as to why is he acting in such
ways. I would try to put myself in his/hers position to understand his circumstance or logic of the
situation. Sometimes a compromise has to be reached and both parties might not be in a win-
win situation.
