MATH IN NATURE
COMPARISON
On researching, we found out that Ahlcon International School in India and Baken Park
Lyceum in the Netherlands were also researching on the topic Maths in Nature. We
found that there were similarities and differences in our researches. Some similarities
were that all three schools used the example of Fibonacci to show symmetrical patterns
in nature. More emphasis was laid on the presence of symmetry in our natural
surroundings.
Our researches not only had similarities but also some differences. The students of
Baken Park Lyceum have specified the way in which symmetry is seen in Fibonacci. The
students of Baken Park Lyceum also went to Oostvaardersplassen, a forest reserve area
in Netherlands to do research about nature.
REFLECTION
After looking into other school's projects, we tried to analyse
our project critically. We really appreciate the way the
students of Baken Park Lyceum went to
Oostvaardersplassen and noticed and studied the natural
patterns there.
EUMIND was a great platform for us to learn new things
about nature around us and also to know how Maths is not
only in our textbooks but is also interspersed into our daily
life. Our experience until now was great and we surely did
get to learn many things that will add value to our life
skills.
