I. Objectives:
At the end of the lesson, the students will be able to:
1. Defines basic terms (Dating, Courtship, Marriage); H8FH-IIa-24
2. Explains the importance of courtship and dating in choosing a lifetime
partner; H8FH-IIa-25
3. Recognize the differences of Dating, Courtship and Marriage

II. Subject Matter

A. Topic: Family Life (Courting, Dating, Marriage)

B. Materials: Laptop, Projector, PPT presentation
C. References: Physical Education and Health (Grade 8 Module)

A. Activating Prior Knowledge

Motivation:
The teacher will group the class into 3 groups. Each group will answer “Loop A
Word.”
And the now, the teacher will now activate the prior knowledge of the students by asking
the following questions:
1. Are you familiar with these?
2. Do you know how your parents met?
3. Were you able to ask their love story?
4. What do you think is our lesson all about?

B. Acquiring New Knowledge

To follow is the discussion about:

1. Courtship, Dating, Marriage

 C. Application

Activity #1.
After discussing, the teacher will divide the class into 2. The class will have a
debate by reflecting on and answering these questions:
“At what stage in one’s life should one be allowed to go on dates? Do you think a
Grade 8 student like you should already be allowed to go on dates? Justify your stand.”

D. Assessment
For individual activity, the students will answer this:
1. Why is it important to undergo courting and dating in choosing your lifetime
partner?

III. Evaluation
Activity #2.
The teacher will let the students conduct an interview to a couple they
know. These are the guide questions:
1. How did the couple meet each other?
2. Why did they like/love each other?
3. Did the relationship started with courtship or dating? How?
4. Is courtship and dating important to them in choosing a lifetime partner? Why?

Assignment
The students will read about Pregnancy-related Concerns and Prenatal Care.
