Yes, ________. Adjectives are words that describe or
modify other words, making your writing
and speaking much more specific, and a
whole lot more interesting. Words
like small, blue, and sharp are descriptive,
and they are all examples of adjectives.
Because adjectives are used to identify or
quantify individual people and unique
things, they are usually positioned before
the noun or pronoun that they modify.

C. Lesson Proper

Give me an example sentence with an adjective. This mushroom soup is good.

Can you identify the adjective used in this

sentence? The word good.

is adjectives, we will discuss the degrees of
adjectives. This sentence is an example of a
positive adjective.

Kara is friendly.
A positive adjective is a normal adjective that’s
used to describe, and not to compare.

pasta and why?
Yes, ______. I like soup more than pasta because it is
lesser in carbohydrates and it is easier to
digest.

Thank you! Another answer? Pasta tastes better than soup because it has
more flavor.

Excellent answer!

Ethan is friendlier than Kara.

In this sentence we can see that there are two
things being compared using comparative
words.

What do you think are the comparative words

used according to the given answers?
Yes, _______. In the sentence “Pasta tastes better than
soup because it has more flavor.” The word
“better” describes the comparison between
the pasta and the soup.
Thank you for the answer.

The second degree is called comparative

adjective. This is an adjective that’s used to
compare two things and is often followed by the
word than. Just like the example.

the world?
___________. My mom is the most beautiful thing in the
world.

Expressive! Another answer? Yes, _____. Love is the most beautiful thing in the
world.

Let’s say that love is the most beautiful thing in

the world. What word in the sentence that
describes that it is superior to other things in the
world? Most beautiful. The word most makes the
adjective superior.

Correct answer.

Pau is the friendliest among the three.

This sentence is what we call the superlative
adjective, which is an adjective that is used to
compare three or more things, or to state that
something is the most.
Is that clear class? Yes, ma’am.
