SUMMARY OF DUTY

Week 1, June 10-14

It was June 10,2019 when I and my team started working in GIMP VENTURES, a construction
firm, as a Civil Engineer Trainee. Before we introduced to our designated site/location, the GIMP owner
and her secretary oriented us about the company rules and regulations.

To start with my work, Ma’am Jo, one of the owners of the firm, assigned me with my 2 co-
engineer at Mabinay, Negros Oriental where one of their projects located. This project named
“Evacuation Facility and the Development of Tennis Court”. The first job assigned to us was to review
and analyse the plan if it is followed or not.

Week 2, June 17-21

Our company checker, “ Boss Lance or Sir Lance”, they used to call him those names in the field,
he assign me a task to check the installation of wire and circuit breaker if it is correct or follow according
to plan. In the next day, we also visit the second project of our company located in NORSU Mabinay, me
and my team (co-engineer OJT’s) observed on how to fabricate the reinforcement for the slab and also the
right ratio of mixing mortar.

Week 3, June 24-28

This is just a regular day for me, just like what I’m doing the other pass few days, I’m doing
reading the plan of the roof and the installation of the roof panels under the development of Tennis Court.
On the other day, Ma’am Jo assign me and my team to paint the fabricated gate for NORSU Mabinay
Development.

Week 4, July 1-5

First week of July, another day to observe and learn new ideas in the field. The time where
pouring of concrete for the slab has started and also the lay outing of ramp for PWD’s and its railings.

Week 5, July 8-12

It was one o’clock in the afternoon when the heavy equipment or Grader started to level/grade the
back fill according to plan. And also the continuation of concreting the tennis court and wiring installation
on stage and street lights. In the next day, me and my team and Boss Lance visited the project in Brgy.
Bagtic which is the Development of Brgy. Bagtic Health Center.

Week 6, July 15-19

Sir Lance and Ma’am Butchik came and told us to have a site visit to all of their projects. After
visiting all the site, Ma’am Jo give a last task for our last week of OJT, each of us has a task. My task is to
compute for the volume of back fill in Luzville subdivision lot and give an estimation. And I did it well!
