PREVIOUS KNOWLEDGE:​ ​greetings
MATERIALS​: flashcards, posters, photocopies.

WARM UP: ​T sticks some greetings pictures and greeting vocabulary on the board. T
leaves the corresponding images and vocabulary that join with the images stuck on the
board. Ss are asked to go to the desk and choose a flashcard to join with the
corresponding image or vocabulary on the board.

TIME: 5’

PRESENTATION: ​Teacher introduces the new topic and shows a flashcard with the
image of commands. Teacher says a command and then shows the image of that
command to students. For example “open the book” “close the book” “open the
window” “close the window”, etc., then students repeat using different types of drillings

TIME: 8’

GUIDED PRACTICE: ​Firstly, T gives Ss some copies in which Ss have to circle the
correct word. Secondly, T shows some images of commands. Therefore, Ss have to
read them and say the word. T helps and encourages Ss to repeat the word three
times. Finally, Ss have to circle the correct word.
Appendix 1.

TIME: 10’

FREE PRACTICE:
Stage 1: Teacher hands out students a photocopy where they will find image of
showing commands, Ss have to write the names of it. Ss stick the photocopy on
their notebook.
Appendix 2

TIME: 7’

FOLLOW UP: T sticks different posters on the board, each poster is to represent
different command. E.g The yellow one is for Stand up & Sit down , the pink one is for
Open the book & Close the book. T leaves on the desk different images about all the
commands. Ss have to choose one image without seeing and have to stick it in the
poster that corresponds. Teacher uses music to start the game.

EXTRA ACTIVITY: Teacher hands out photocopies to Ss. Ss choose the correct
option, depending on the image.
