Chapter 5

Summary, Conclusions and Recommendations

This chapter presents the summary of the results of the research investigation, the

conclusions arrived at and the recommendations drawn by the researcher.

Summary

Table 1 shows the Distribution of Age’s Respondents. From age 14, the actual number is

15, frequency of 15 and percentage of 50. From age 15, the actual number is 10, frequency of 10

and percentage of 33.3. From age 16, the actual number is 5, frequency of 5 and percentage of

16.7.

Table 2 shows the Distribution of Gender’s Respondents. There are 12 males and 18

females. Because females are more observant in our environment especially the segregation of

plastics and usually fond of the orderliness of the environment than males.

Table 3 shows the Distribution of Year Level’s Respondents. From K7 to K10. From k7,

there are 5 respondents. From K8, there are 5 respondents. From K9, there are 15 respondents.

From K10, there are 5 respondents.

Table 4 shows that the respondents are not aware in Segregation of plastics in St.

Augustine’s School. That’s why they are not aware what’s happening to their surroundings.

Table 5 shows that the respondents are somewhat aware of Segregation of plastics in St.

Augustine’s School because they know the possibilities of what might happen if this continues.

Table 6 shows that the respondents are very aware in Segregation of plastic to
2

prevent Soil in St. Augustine’s School because if ever the soil would be polluted, the will be no

chances of plantation of foods to support the human livings and animals.

Table 7 shows that the respondents are strongly agree in Segregation of plastics because

plastics can make up a large part of the municipal waste and might pollute the soil.

Table 8 shows that the respondents are agree in Segregation of plastics because soil

pollution can be prevent.

Table 9 shows that the respondents are moderately agree in Segregation of plastics

because plastics might cause mutated microorganism causing diseases.

Table 10 shows that the respondents are disagree in Segregation of plastics because

plastics are not eco-friendly and not good for the environment.

Table 11 shows that the respondents are strongly disagree in Segregation of plastics

because it its truly that plastics are not eco-friendly and plastics are not good for the environment

which can give rise to mutated agricultural goods and products.

Conclusions

Based on the findings, the researchers concluded that:

Awareness on the Segregation of Plastics in St. Augustine’s School can help the students

to minimize the usage of plastics inside and outside of the school. It helps the students to

enhance their resourcefulness and also their care for the environment.

Recommendations

Based on the findings and the conclusions obtained by the researchers, the
3

following are hereby recommended:

1. Don’t use garbage bags—just empty your trash into the garbage bin.

2. If you don’t like that approach, get yourself some recycled or biodegradable, compostable

garbage bags.

3..Be diligent about picking up and disposing of trash.

4.Do not burn trash, particularly plastics or tires, because the residue in the smoke will settle and

pollute the soil.
