M06 MINUTES
Meeting Date: Thursday, August 13, 2020

Call to Order:
A regular meeting of the course ENGL 4021, M06 of the University of Puerto Rico at Ponce was
held, for the second time, remotely via Big Blue Button video conference at 10:30 AM. The
meeting ended at 11:54 AM. Professor LeCompte presided and Douglas Acevedo, Angélica M.
Vélez, and Stephanie Rosario served as secretaries.

Approval of Minutes:
The student Angélica M. Vélez Bobé presented a motion for the approval of the minute of
Tuesday, August 11, 2020. The minute of Tuesday, August 11, 2020, was approved as
distributed to the members of the course.

Matters Discussed:
All the objectives in the agenda of the professor LeCompte were done, among other things.
These agenda objectives were:

1. To develop writing fluency- Free Writing Exercises


The students were assigned a term of three minutes to make writing that answers the
following question: “If you could eliminate a species of insect from the face of the earth,
which one would it be? Why?”. Three volunteer students who read their writings were:
Douglas Acevedo, Fabio Santiago, and Angélica Vélez.

2. Explanation of the First Technical Document: Class Minutes


The professor LeCompte explained and defined all the concepts of minutes that the class
will be working by this semester. In general terms, this include: call to order, venue,
matters discussed and adjournment. Three students volunteer themselves as secretaries.
Also, she emphasized the use of vocabulary words in the future portfolio.

3. Schedule-Extra Points Opportunity


One of the announcements was that the class will not be reunited the next week (August
16-21) because of the social-cultural activity named: “Diálogo Nacional Universitario”.
The importance of this movement and its purpose is to plead for reasonable costs of
academic credits, more empathy in the actual situation of the migration of the accounts,
among other things. Students will have the opportunity to attend to these multiple
meetings and have extra points if they prove their participation in one of the events.

4. The assignments scheduled in class last Thursday class were:


a.) To read the information on Trip Report, Portfolio and Progress Report by week
August, 24-28th
b.) To buy a mousetrap and the chocolate for August 25th

5. Attendance
Professor LeCompte passed attendance and the absent students were:

• Nicole Vera

Adjournment: The meeting adjourned at 11:54 AM.
