ENGL 4021 L06 MINUTES
Meeting Date: September 6, 2023

Call to Order:

A regular meeting of the Course ENGL 4021 L06 of the University of Puerto Rico at Ponce (UPRP) was
held in room MTC3 of the Ruth Fortuño Academic Building on September 6, 2023. The meeting
convened at 3:00 pm, Professor LeCompte presiding and Zachelivet Medina Vélez, secretary. All students
attended.

Approval of Minutes:

Minutes of the August 30th, 2023, meeting were approved after corrections.

Matters Discussed:

1. Professor Le Compte welcomed students and began the class with the free writing exercise.
The exercise was to describe the perception obtained from two editorial cartoons that were on
the paper that the professor had printed out for the students.
2. The students completed a quiz based on the documentary The Future of Food.

3. The professor discussed the documentary The Future of Food and highlighted some key
words:
a) Seed banks
b) 'Roundup'
c) G.M.O.
d) Patents
e) E. Coli
f) Monoculture

4. Professor Le Compte assigned students to watch the second documentary Food Evolution.
Unfinished Business:

The professor postponed the discussion of the free writing exercise for next class.

Adjournment: The meeting adjourned at 4:17 pm.
