Meeting Date: August 31,2022

Call to Order:

A regular meeting of the Course ENGL 4021 L03 of the University of Puerto Rico at Ponce was held in room MTC-1 on August
31, 2022. The meeting was convened at 1:39 p.m., Professor LeCompte presiding and Oscar Green Colón as secretary. The
profesor took attendance, and only Solimar Rosado and Chanellys Torres were absent.

Approval of Minutes:

The minutes corresponding to the meeting of August 29, 2022 were discussed and approved after corrections.

Matters Discussed:

1. Free Writing: Professor Le Compte gave the students the task to do a free writing on the following question: “If you
were to inhabit the world of any video or computer game, which one would you select?”

Professor LeCompte confirmed that the first test for the course will be held on September 14, 2022 and it will
consist on chapter one and two of the book “Pocket Guide to Technical Communication”.
2. The topics for the upcoming exam are:
 Minutes
 The Documentary: The Future of Food
 Chapter one and two from the book: Pocket Guide to Technical Communication.
 Technical Instructions with their different characteristics

3. Professor LeCompte continued the discussion of the documentary The Future of Food and explained the following
keywords:
 Food Industry – large scale business with the main priority of making money
 Corporations – legal entity that are separated from their owners
 Globalization – the capacity to develop business on an international scale for worldwide production
 Terminator Gene – genetically modified gene that does not have the capacity to produce any offspring
 Perma culture – cultivation of foods using the environment and diverse crops with the intention of being
sustainable

4. Professor LeCompte assigned the class to do the following:

 Read the first two chapters of the book: Pocket Guide to Technical Communication
 Make some corrections on their own minutes so they can add them to their own portfolio, along with other
corrected minutes from their classmates.

Adjournment: The meeting adjourned at 2:46 p.m.
