ENGL 4021 M06 MINUTES
Meeting Date: August 27, 2020

Call to Order:

A regular meeting of the Course ENGL 4021 M06 of the University of Puerto Rico at Ponce was
held remotely via Google Meet video conference on August 27, 2020. The meeting convened at
10:34 am, Professor LeCompte presiding and Angel J. Santos Lewis, secretary. All students
attended except Yreisa Febles, Yandreliz Gonzalez, Danushka Tanon, and Alejandra Ortiz.

Approval of Minutes:

Minutes of the August 25, 2020 meeting were approved as distributed to members of the course.
Angelica Velez, Valerie Orengo and Jon Rodriguez presented the motions.

Matters Discussed:

1. The professor welcomed the students and asked them if they have Internet problems to
find a way to help.
2. LeCompte presented the agenda, doing eventually the Free Writing Exercise, in which
two students read their paragraphs.
3. The minutes were verified, and grammar corrections were made, such as active voice (in
Matters Discussed), parallel in writing sequence and pronoun consistency.
4. The professor gave examples of Active and Passive Voice, specifying the agent in each
sentence.
5. The professor spoke about the instructions for the Trip Report and the Portfolio:
• Certification of Attendance to a Webinar, Workshop, etc.
6. Pier asked the students to show their mousetraps and chocolate.
7. The professor gave information about Technical Writing and its characteristics, primary
and secondary research.
8. LeCompte gave the instructions for the Assignments:
• Procedure to assemble a mousetrap
• Venn Diagram

Adjournment: The conference adjourned at 12:03 pm.
