ECE BIWEEKLY MEETING CRITIQUE PAPER

SACANLE, Sean Charles T.

Last week’s biweekly meeting was facilitated by Ms. Ronnielyn Pulido. The topic of her facilitation
was about empowering ourselves amidst the pandemic. The meeting occurred last October 25, 2020 and
started at exactly 7:03 in the evening.

Most of the scholars were present during the facilitation. Scholars were also encouraged to open
the cameras as long as it will not interfere with their internet connectivity and communication with the other
scholars. Ms. Pulido started her presentation with a simple introduction and overview regarding the topic to
be discussed for that day. Minutes after the topic orientation, instructions for the first activity were given by
the facilitator. Before the biweekly meeting, Ms. Pulido instructed the scholars to prepare the following
materials: mirror, pencil, bond paper, coloring materials, and a copy of particular picture to be used for the
activity. The scholars were tasked to bring out their mirror, art materials, and a bond paper and draw their
reflection projected in the mirror. After 10 minutes, scholars were randomly called to present their outputs
and discuss the salient features that can be seen from the drawings.

After the first activity, Ms. Pulido discussed the Choice Theory by Dr. William Glasser. The choice
theory posits that individuals have the ability to make choices that can greatly control and influence their
lives. The facilitator discussed the principles supporting the main idea of the Choice Theory. Afterwards, all
of the scholars were called to choose a principle with the utmost importance. It was a long conversation
and a sensible sharing of thoughts and experiences.

The last activity helped the scholars to appreciate themselves by reflecting on the beautiful things
on their physical appearance and personality. Since it has been a lengthy meeting, the facilitator chose a
few scholars to present their works. The meeting ended with a group photo and it was adjourned
successfully.

The moral of Ms. Pulido’s presentation was greatly encouraging and inspiring. The flow of
presentation was logical and organized. The intended message was profoundly expressed and the
examples given for every concept were of great relevance to the overarching theme of the presentation.
The activities were strictly time – bound yet enough to suffice its main objective. Though the video and
audio quality of the presenter and the scholars were of good condition, it was a good thing that Ms. Pulido
prepared a visual aid for the discussion.

On the other hand, the only downside that I observed from Ms. Pulido’s presentation was the very
lengthy presentation. The commencement time for the meeting was not the only time that should be
announced. The announcement of the expected ending time is also important to give a reminder for the
scholars and schedule their plans accordingly.
The Law of Attraction states that are thoughts attract and create things. This means that whatever
we focus on becomes our universe and reality. Maintaining a positive self - talk and upholding a positive
outlook in life is essential amidst hard times. A positive mindset gives us the vigor and encouragement to
constantly strive and battle the challenges that we face along our journey in life.
