이로 물어서 깨트렸다. 딱! 이 소리에 도깨비들은 소란을 피우며 외쳤다.
“지붕이 무너진다!” 그리고는 집 밖으로 몰려나갔다.

남자는 지붕에서 내려와 도깨비 방망이 하나를 발견하고는 들고 집으로

돌아왔다. 그 방방이를 휘두르며 바닥을 치고 원하는 것을 외쳐서, 남자는
곧 아주 부자가 되었다.
남자의 이웃 중 하나는 너무도 부자가 되고 싶어서 남자에게 도깨비
방망이를 어떻게 구했는지 물었다. 다음 날 이 남자는 산속에 나무를 하러
들어가서는 떨어져 굴러오는 개암들을 주웠다. 하지만 이 남자는 첫 번째
개암을 줍더니 이렇게 말했다. “이건 내가 먹어야지!” 그리고 두 번째

개암을 얻었을 때에는 이렇게 말했다. “이건 아내한테 가져다 줘야지!”
Once upon a time, a man was cutting firewood in a mountain. Flick, pad pad 그리고 세 번째 개암을 보고는 중얼거렸다. “이건 부모님 드릴 수도 있고!”

The man climbed down and found a Dokkaebi’s club and came home with it.
By wielding and hitting it on the floor, crying out for what he wanted to
have, the man soon became very rich.
One of his neighbors wanted to be rich so much he asked the man how he
had got Dokkaebi’s club. Next day, this man went into the mountain to cut
firewood too and picked up hazelnuts falling and rolling to him. But this
man, picking up the first hazelnut, said, “I’ll have this hazelnut!” When he
got the second hazelnut, he said, “This is for my wife!” and for the third
hazelnut, he mumbled, “I may save this for my parents!”
When night fell, he wandered around the mountain to find the empty house.
When he managed to find it, he climbed onto the rafter and hid himself up
there. A few hours later, Dokkaebis stomped in and began to play with their
clubs. He heard the whacking club sounds and Dokkaebi’s cries, “Come out,
