C At the end of the lesson, some pupils will be able to listen and understand questions of asking the time correctly.

I. PRE-LESSON 1. Pupils review numbers in word form.

1. Activity 1:
⮚ Introduce telling the time (on the hour and half past) using the board or toy clocks if available.
⮚ Set the toy clock to different times and tell the time. Pupils listen and repeat. e.g. It’s (one)
o’clock. / It’s half past two.
⮚ Set the clock again to different times and ask pupils What’s the time?
⮚ Encourage pupils to answer It’s ____ o’clock./ It’s half past ______ .

2. Activity 2:
⮚ Vocabulary: Have pupils open their books to page 10 and point out the time in the vocabulary
section.
II. LESSON
⮚ Play the CD and have pupils point to the clock picture and repeat. (track 13)
DEVELOPMENT
⮚ Say the times in random order and have pupils repeat and point.

3. Activity 3:
⮚ Grammar box: Read it aloud.
⮚ Set the clock to different times and ask pupils what time it is.

4. Activity 4:
⮚ Direct pupils’ attention to the picture of the two boys and ask them what they are doing.
⮚ Play the CD and ask pupils to repeat chorally. (track 14)
