2. define and explain functional relationship as a mathematical model of situation; and
3. represent real-life situations using functions, including piece-wise function.

 Start your day with a positive mindset and a sound body by doing some physical

Recall your learnings about relation and function with the given examples in the
module (page 5-7). Identify their differences when it comes to table of values, ordered
pairs and vertical line test.

Read some dialogues with the given 3 scenarios in the module (pages 8-9) and
determine if they can be classified as function or not. Then, answer the guide
questions on page 9.
Discussion of the Topic (What Is it)
After completing the initial activity as a springboard in introducing the lesson. You
may now proceed to read the contents about representing functions into real-life
situations on pages 9-12.
Enrichment Activities (What’s More)
After discussing the concepts/lessons included in this module, answer the
Independent Practice 1-2 and Independent Assessment 1-2 on pages 12 and 13.
Read each situation carefully to solve each problem.
