MODULE 1
K to 12 English Curriculum Framework and
ICT Tools and Its Uses

A. Panimula
Ang mga mag-aaral na gagamit:
Ang pagtuturo-pagkatutong ito ay inihanda para sa mga nagmemedyor sa Filipino
upang magkaroon ng kaalaman tungkol sa bagong kaparaanan ng pagtuturo sa ilalim ng K to 12
Curriculum.

Lagom-Pananaw
Ang modyul na ito ay nakapokus sa pagbibigay ng mga gabay sa kung paano at ano
ang mga bagong paraan o sistema ng pagtuturo sa mga mag-aaral sa sekundarya. Pokus din ng
modyul na ito ang bigyang pansin ang kahalagan ng wastong paggamit ng ICT Tools sa pagtuturo
at pagkatuto.

B. Layunin
Pagkatapos mabasa at mapag-aralan ang modyul, ang mga mag-aaral ay dapat nang:
1. Naiisa-isa ang mga sangkap (components) ng bagong kurikulum,
2. Nalalaman ang wastong gamit ng mga ICT Tools sa pagtuturo at pagkatuto ng mga
mag-aaral,
3. Naipaliliwanag ang mga mabuti at di mabuting dulot na gamit ng mga ICT Tools sa
pagtuturo at pagkatuto,
4. Nakalilikha ng Matrix kaugnay ng mga ICT Tools at bisa nito sa pagtuturo at
pagkatuto,
5. Nakabubuo ng sariling katha/journal bilang tugon sa mga question-type writing
prompt tungkol sa ICT tools, mga online resources o mga online technology tools na
ginagamit sa pagtuturo at pagkatuto ng wikang Filipino.

Panuto:
Basahing mabuti ang kahulugan, kahalagahan at simulain ng kagamitang panturo at ang
tatlong hating pangkat ng labing isang baiting ng hagdan ng karanasan. Pagkatapos itong basahin
at pag-aralan, magkakaroon ng ilang gawain at tanong upang mas lalong mapagtibay ang
kaalaman sa mga napag-aralan.

K TO 12 ENGLISH CURRICULUM FRAMEWORK

1. The world is now in the “Knowledge age” where the challenges of education is to:
 Prepare learners to deal with the challenges of the changing world.
 Students must understand and operate communication and information.
 Apply higher level of thinking skills in decision and solving problems.

2. The end goals of teaching and learning English are:

 Communicative Competence
 The student‟s ability to understand and use language appropriately
and correctly to communicate in authentic situations.
 Multiliteracies
  The term comes from two words “multi” and “literacy” implies that
text is not the only way to communicate. Text is combinedwith
sounds and images.
 It is incorporated into movies, billboards, almost any site on the
internet and television. All these ways of communication require
the ability to understand and multimedia world.

 At the base of the framework are theories of language teaching, theories of

language learning and acquisition and theories of language. This means that
English language teaching in the K to 12 Curriculum is on various theories.

 Assessment and feedback are essential elementsof language teaching. The words
assessment and feedback are also found in the MTB-MLE Framework.

-there major applications of macro-skills of the language and it described
as the knowledge and skill areas which are essential to effective language use;
 Understanding Cultures – learning language through text types and
literary appreciation exposes learners to different cultures of the
world including one‟s culture.
 Understanding Language – recognize the patterns and rules of the
language which emerge as they interact with plethora of
texts/literary and informational to make meaning.
  Process and Strategies – they usestrategies such as brainstorming
and discussion as a way of developing ideas.

 Making Meaning Through Language

 language is the major instrument of communication (oral and
written).
 language is the heart which we are exchanging meaning.
 the skills, grammatical items structures and various types of text
will be taught.
 The five (5) macro-skills (listening, speaking, reading, writing and
viewing) serve as the building blocks for understanding and
creation of meaning and for effective communication.
 Holistic Assessment
 Ongoing gathering of information on different aspects of a child
from various sources.
 It informs teachers about their teaching practices and guide them in
the design and delivery of students learning.
 It enables the parents to support their children‟s development and
growth.

Introduction
A Computer is a multipurpose electronic device that can receive, process and store
data. They are used as tools in every part of society together with the internet.
Computer nowadays are complex there are a lot of different components inside them,
and they all serve different purpose.
ICT tools is very useful for our Educational field. It have some
demerits also.But if we use the tools in proper way we try to mold
our knowledge and improve our knowledge capacity. Choose a best way to use the
ICT tools in our Educational field.

derived from the Latin term
“computare‟‟, this means to calculate
or programmable machine. Computer
can not do anything without a
Program. It represents the decimal
numbers through a string of binary
digits. The Word „Computer‟ usually
refers to the Center Processor Unit
plus Internal memory.

4. A computer helps you to send e-mail.
5. A computer helps you to play games.

information to make sense.
2. College students spend an average of 5-6 hours a week on the internet.
3. Research shows that computers can significantly enchance performance in
learning.

improve the quality of their academic research and of their written work.

Uses of laptop
1. Through the laptop, you can do your work anywhere you want.
2. The laptop can be carried anywhere you can work on your laptop at home or
office as per your convenience.

Uses of laptop in Education

1. Using laptops in classrooms will help the students to learn to type quickly
and accurately.
2. They can record notes much faster than writing by hand.
3. Technology is used in conducting research, developing the
materials,managing the student information, and communicating
with the colleagues, the students, and the parents.

Internet
The Internet is the global system of
interconnected computer networks that use
the internet protocol suite
to link devices worldwide. It is a network
of networks that consists of

local to global scope, linked by a
broad array of electronic, wireless, and
optical networking
 technologies. The Internet
carries an extensive range of information
resources and services, such as
the inter-linked hypertext documents
electronic mail,telephony, and peer-to-peer netwoeks for file sharing.

Uses of Internet

1. Checking
It is reported that the first thing that 90% of internet uses do when they
connected to the net is to check if they have received any emails. Internet
has drastically changed the email pattern and has made it incredibly fast.
2. Download
It is hard to find an Internet user, who has not used it to download
music and movies. Apart from it, there are lots of other things that can
be downloaded using internet as well.
3. Search for relevant information
If you are not sure about something, then one of the easiest way to know
more about it is by searching it on internet. Internet has got a huge database
of information on almost every subject and one can easily find out
lots of information on any topic using internet.

4. Book Tickets
Online booking has made things reallyeasy. Beit a movie ticket or flight ticket,
you can book just about anything using internet.

The use of internet is not limited merely to booking tickets. With help of net, you

Ipad
iPad is a line of tablet computers
designed, developed and marketed by Apple inc., which
run the ios mobile operating system. The first
iPad was released on April 3,2010; the
most recent iPad models are the 7 inch iPad pro
released on march31,2016 and the iPad Mini 4,
released on Sep. 9, 2015.

Uses of iPad
1. iPad tablets still have a wide margin globally on second most used Android
tablets.
2. The market share , however,differs widely by regions; and the iPad
has lost market share globally, every year since 2012.

1. The iPad has several uses in the classroom, and has been
praised as a valuable tool for homeschooling.
2. Soon after the iPad was realeased,it was reported that 81% of the

iPhone is a line of smartphones designed and

marketed by Apple Inc. They run Apple‟s ios
mobile operating system.

phones for use in emergencies.

pictures for use as inspiration in art classes.

Digital Cameras
