b. Motivation
In Science, you have studied the different type of clouds. The nimbus clouds, cumulus clouds
and stratus clouds. Stratus clouds are low level characterized by layering of clouds.
Cumulus clouds are described as fluffy and cotton-like. Cirrus clouds are short, detached,
hair-like clouds found at high altitudes. Nimbus clouds produce precipitation that reaches the
ground in the form of rain, snow or hail. In these pictures, what type of cloud do you think it is?
Asks the students, “what do you think will happen if the clouds are in nimbus form?
The teacher asks the students about how they were able to guess what happens next. The
teacher uses the students’ answers to discuss about making predictions. Predicting outcomes is
guessing what will happen next after a certain event has occurred based on two things:
1. Clues given in the picture or story
2. What you already know
Sometimes it can happen that you might arrive at different guesses or predictions because clues can be
interpreted in different ways. But what’s important is you think carefully in predicting outcomes.
e. Developing Mastery
1. Going back to the story, how were you able to predict the event that will happen next in the
story?
f. Finding practical application of concepts and skills in daily living
