NARRATIVE REPORT ON
ECARP
S.Y. 2019 - 2020

ECARP is an initiative to directly address the literacy thrust of the


Department of Education. The program aims to make every Filipino child a
reader by Grade three and have mastery of the literacy skills at his/her
level. Moreover, Grade three as the level by which every child must be a
successful reader.

Last February 25 to March 1, 2020, the Supreme Pupil Government


(SPG) officers conducted an ECARP to Grade one and Grade two pupils
as rendering their service and help to the teacher to give tutorial and
assessment to the slower pupils. The SPG officers assisted the least
learned pupils especially in reading. They were teaching the children on
how to pronounce and read the word correctly by introducing a syllaba and
giving the correct sounds of each letter in a word. They also gave the pupils
some simple to difficult words for the spelling test.

Furthermore, an intensive remediation is done to the Grade 1 pupils


as the Oral Reading Verification Test is conducted. The grade 1 teachers
namely; Miss Angel Gella D. Gelig, Mrs. Criste T. Gullod and Mrs. Renavil
S. Veran, indeed find extra time to achieve the main goal which is to make
every child a reader.

Test is conducted. She focused on reading especially in syllabic and CVC words.
The teacher is doing remedial in reading even during class. She uses her time wisely for the
attainment and success of the Deped program which is ECARP.
