Background:
Vaishali hails from a family of 5 members. Her father is self-employed person and her
mother is a house wife. Vaishali has 3 siblings. During her free time, Vaishali likes to read
books, teach neighboring kids and travel.
Experimenting to clear ambiguity:
Vaishali never had any problem while speaking up or asking doubts to concerned person. But
when the doubts were not clarified, she approached the subject related books or internet. She
says that there used to be problems related to her household work but after Agastya has
explained the concepts in a very practical approach, she can now relate most of her problems
with the subject and find solutions. This relevance was helpful even while she was cooking
food as she could relate the ingredients with acid base and salts topics.
Vaishali likes to apply what she studies in day to day life. She says that the concepts like
friction, solar systems are made easier to understand once she learnt more about the concepts.
With the practical explanation that Agastya gives, even the concepts that are earlier explained
in regular classroom were made clearer. One of the examples that she gives is the concept of
Acids, bases and salts. Agastya also helped in learning about making things with ingredients
available at home. Vaishali says she made a homemade litmus paper by going through
Agastya’s instructions.
Though Vaishali did not attend any science fair or summer camp, she says that she now got
the confidence to do any science experiment alone. She also says that her scores got
improved after attending Agastya sessions.
When asked about the lockdown, Vaishali explained that the lockdown was imposed in India
because of Covid 19 and she said that it is good for us that there is lockdown. During this
lockdown, most of the time, she read books and worked in kitchen helping her mother. With
the times like these, to keep the learning spirit intact, Agastya’s innovative idea of ELP
classes was very helpful and she enjoyed learning about the new concepts and doing
experiments with household materials.
Aspiration:
Vaishali wants to become a teacher when she grows up. She says that she would make a very
good teacher because of her broader thinking capabilities. With Agastya’s teaching
methodology, she says that she got the confidence in in the subject and clarity towards her
aspiration. She thanks Agastya for it.
