Background:
Vidhya hails from a family of 4 members. Her mother is a house wife and her father is a
contract labour in a company. She has one younger sister and she now studies in 6 th standard.
During her free time, Vidhya likes to paint, draw and dance to the tunes.
Learning spirit comes with new techniques
When asked about the corona virus, Vidhya told that the lockdown has started in March,
2020. In her opinion, the effects of virus are having cold, cough, and fever and also leading to
the death of people. Because of the spread of virus, lockdown has been implemented
throughout India and all the offices, schools and companies have been closed. There are so
many daily wagers who lost their job because of the lockdown.
As the lockdown has been implemented and there is no school, Agastya has implemented the
new way of learning that is the online classes. The learning spirit has been increased a lot
because of the online classes. Though the entire world has come to stall, the learning of
students did not stop because of Agastya’s creative way of learning.
During these ELP sessions, Vidhya has learnt so much and the thinking capacity also
increased a lot. As there is no physical and tangible interaction between the instructor and the
student, the instructor’s friendly behaviour towards the students has been very cordial and
that made students learn more and more. Though there are multiple online classes, the
approach of Agastya towards teaching is very innovative as that involves practical teaching
and activity based learning.
Vidhya says that the Agastya online classes have been very innovative and they improved her
thinking skills and communication skills. Her parents also involve in the activities. They
encourage her to learn and experiment more every day. Her school is also very supportive
about Agastya classes.
