2. Before tthe shutdown
n activity the valves shouldd be preparedd as shown inn below drawwing and to bee 
hydro te
ested. 

 
  

During Shutdown 
 
a) Fro
om Vizag terminal to
o CP6 
1. Sweeet water willl be pumped from vizag te erminal into ppipeline with batch pig up to CP6 (HPCLL 
Scope) which takkes nearly 24 hours. 
CP6, only pigs will be colleccted and prod
2. In C will be diverted to further line which will be 
duct/water w
up tto Rajahmund dry. 
3. Oncce the pig received in CP6, the entire se ection from viizag to CP6 iss fully filled with water. 
4. Noww the activitie
es in CP5, CP66 will be startted. 

Activities involved in tthe CP5: 

a)) After the d
depressurizingg the line, CP5 will be han dover to us.
b) In this secttion from vizaag to CP6, waater in the pippeline need to
o be drained. 
c)) To drain th
he water, there is a 2inch P PT connectionn, for that 2in
nch PT connection have too 
remove PTT and for thatt flanged conn nection need  to connect 22inch hose to drain water. The 
water will be collected in pits which are already eexcavated (sh hown in drawing below). 
d) For extra cconnection to o drain water from the pip eline, on the pipeline 2 no o’s 3inch weld
d o 
let with pu
up piece and vvalve will be wwelded and tthen after cold drilling will be made in tthat 
3inch connnection. Afterr drilling the p
point need too connect 2incch hoses and water will bee 
collected in the pit whicch is excavateed.

ected in PIT 1
1 which will coome from onee PT connection hose and

offs connectio ons.  
f) From PIT 1 1 the  water w erred to PIT 2  to reduce oil traces, From
will be transfe m PIT 2 water will 
be pumped out up to Pond which sh hown in draw wing. 
g)) As per the attached ele evation chart, nearly aboutt 3500KL (22kkm) of water to be drained d out 
from the ppipeline. 
h) After total water draine ed out from the pipeline, wwith graindingg machine neeed to cut thee 
main pipelline as per me easurement.
i) After comp pletion of cuttting, 18inch vvalve need too be fit up and
d welding wo orks will be 
started. 
 
 

CP5 LOCATION AND PITS: 

 
  
b)  From CP6 to Rajahmundry 
1. After receiving the batch pig which is launched from Vizag terminal, one bi‐di pig will be 
launched with water at CP6. Water will be taken from fire hydrant line and arrangements to 
take the water will be made earlier before start of work (as shown in picture). 

 
 
2. After launching the pig with water, pumping will be stopped after pig travels 1km(approx.) 
3. Then after with compressed air another bi‐di pig will be launched. 
4. Air pigging will continue till the pig reaches CP9/SV2. 
5. After crossing the SV2/CP9 compressors should be stopped and valve at the SV2/CP9 will be 
closed. 
6. After closing the valve at SV2/CP9, air in the pipeline need to be vented by opening 2inch 
connections at CP6, CP7, and CP8. 
7. As air in the pipeline vented off, we can commence the works in CP8. 

Activities involved in CP8: 

a) After total air vented out from the pipeline, with grainding machine need to cut the main 
pipeline as per measurement. 
b) After completion of cutting, 18inch valve need to be fit up and welding works will be
