I. Objectives:
At the end of the lesson, students must be able to attain the following with at least 75% level of
proficiency:
provide words or expressions appropriate for a given situation; (EN9V-Ia-1)
analyze literature as a means of discovering the self (EN9LT-Ia-14)
III. Procedure
A. Presentation of the lesson
1. Routine activities

Greeting
Checking of attendance
2. Simple recall
3. Explanation of objectives
4. Motivation
Video Presentation
The students will watch a video clip of mini dialogues and spot the presence
of words/expressions indicating agreement and disagreement.
Processing questions:
1. How do you express agreement and disagreement?
2. What expression and words do you use to express your disagreement or
agreement?
3. How do you choose words or expressions that are appropriate for the
situation?
4. When do we have to properly expressed our disagreement or agreement?
Exercise/Drill
a. Interactive Game/ Activity (Expression Bingo)
Students will be given bingo cards but instead of numbers it will be expressions.
Students are then presented with questions and must use the expressions to
express disagreement or agreement and if used successfully, the expression used
is crossed off on the card. The first student to cross off four squares in a row is
the winner.
Generalization
1. What are the appropriate expressions or words to use in agreeing and disagreeing in an
argument?
2. What is the importance of using appropriate words and expressions in agreeing and disagreeing?
IV. Evaluation
Students are paired up to work on a reading activity, they are presented with a poem to read
entitled “The Seven Ages of Man” and specify which lines clearly point out positive sign of
performing roles in life. The pairs must talk about which of them they agree or disagree with
using words/expressions indicating their purpose. This must be written in a one whole sheet of
paper.
V. Assignment
In one paragraph, express your disagreement or agreement on an issue of your choice, you must use
at least five expressions/words to do so. Write this in your notebook.
