DETAILED LESSON PLAN IN MATH II

I. OBJECTIVES
A. Content Standard The learners gain a better understanding of the process of
adding with and without regrouping.
B. Performance Standard The students discover and share strategies for adding one-
two digit numbers without and without regrouping.
C. Learning Competencies At the end of the lesson, the student will be able to;
1. Define the steps of solving an addition with and
without regrouping.
2. Solve addition with or without regrouping.

II. CONTENT Visualizes and adds numbers, with sum through 99 without
or with regrouping.

III. LEARNING RESOURCES

A. References
B. Other Learning Resources
IV. PROCEDURES
A. Reviewing previous lesson or The teacher will review the past lesson which is about counting
presenting the new lesson numbers from 1-1000 using this chart.

B. Establishing a purpose for the Is it important to learn how to visualizes and adds numbers
lesson because almost everything we do is related to math. And
also adding is one of the important bases in our lives
because if u don't know how to add you will never know
math. you use adding when you are counting your money
or count things like : pencils , books , flowers , make up ,
dresses , shoes , and more ..........
C. Presenting examples/instances The teacher will show an example to the students then
for the lesson she will ask some questions.

67
+ 29
1. Is this the correct answer?
2. How did I get the answer? Explain.
3. What are the steps to get the correct answer?

43
+ 25
1. How about this? Did I get the correct answer?
2. What is the difference in getting the answer
between the first example and the second
example?
D. Discussing new concepts and Today let us visualized and adds numbers, with sum
practicing new skills through 99 without or with regrouping.

ADDITION WITHOUT REGROUPING we use addition

without regrouping if the sum of the 1s place column is not
greater than 9.
Let’s check out an example adding 46+27.

First add the 1s place numbers 6+7=13 we need to put the 3

underneath the 1s place column and add the 1 to the 10s
place column.

1+4+2=7, we write the 7 underneath in the 10s place

column.

And the answer is 73.

ADDING NUMBERS WITH REGROUPING we use

addition with regrouping if the sum of the 1s place column
is greater than 9.
Let’s take a look at an example adding 83+14.
Start by writing the number 83 and below it, the number
14, making sure to line up the 1s columns, or in other
words, the 3 and 4.
Then add 3+4=7 and write it underneath the 1s place
column. Then, we add 8+1=9 and we write it under the 10s
place column.

And the answer is 97.

E. Practicing new Lessons learned The teacher will give 10 problems in adding numbers.
Then the student will be able to answer the problem and
identify if the given problem is an addition with
regrouping or without regrouping.

F. Developing mastery (Leads to The teacher will group the students into two groups. Each
Formative Assessment 3) group will have a representative to choose a paper from
the teacher’s hand. Inside of it there is a solving problem.
The representative will be able to show it to their
groupmates for them to answer. After the group answer
their respective questions the representative will be able
to write their answer on the board and explain how did
they get the correct answer.

GROUP 1 QUESTION: Kate sliced 51 guavas in the

morning. Then later that evening, she sliced 20 guavas.
What is the sum of guavas sliced?

GROUP 2 QUESTION: Frazer has 52 balloons; sally has 28

balloons. What is the sum?
G. Finding practical applications of The teacher will ask the question;
concepts and skills in daily living Why learning addition is important in our daily lives.
H. Making generalizations and The teacher will ask the question;
abstractions about the lesson When do we use addition with regrouping?
When do we use addition without regrouping?

The teacher will wrap-up the concepts by recalling the

lesson for today.
We use addition with regrouping if the sum of the 1s place
column is greater than 9.
we use addition without regrouping if the sum of the 1s
place column is not greater than 9.

I. Evaluating learning Instruction: Find the sum.

1. 56+17
2. 82+13
3. 26+16
4. 24+25
5. 77+22
J. Additional activities for Advance study about subtracting numbers with or without
application or regrouping.
