YEAR 4 – Term 1 - SCIENCE PROJECT 20 Marks

Directions:

Create a poster to warn children of the dangers of taking the wrong medication, especially
medication that looks like candy.

Part 1: Information on Your Poster

1. What is a drug? Use a picture with a caption underneath it. /2/

2. What is medicine? Use a picture with a caption underneath it. /2/

3. Explain the difference between a drug and medicine. Write 1 short sentence. /2/

4. Explain what a prescription is. One short sentence. /2/

5. Show three examples of prescription medicines with 3 pictures. /3/

6. One short slogan or catchy phrase to warn against taking the wrong medication
with a warning sign beside it: /2/

Part 2: Poster Layout

1. Use A3 size paper only. (1)

2. Have pictures as described above that is well set out/ Creative and well organized
layout. (1)

3. Use a colourful border. (1)

Part 3 - Presentation

1. Clear and well-presented project-

2. Clear loud voice, explaining all questions and answers.

3. Not read from a paper. Using short notes not reading from the poster. (4 points)
Part 3: Poster Presentation

1. Describe and explain what a drug and medicine are and the difference between
them.

2. Your presentation must be clear and well-rehearsed. When you present, you may
not just read the information from your poster. Part of a good presentation means
showing your knowledge.
