ALL LIFTING OPERATIONS REQUIRE THE FOLLOWING TO BE CONSIDERED BUT THIS LIST IS NOT EXHAUSTIVE

Pre-use equipment checks by operator Working under suspended loads

Weight, size, shape and centre of gravity of load Conflicting tasks in area/adjacent worksites
Overturning /load integrity/need for tag lines Proximity hazards, obstructions, path of load, lay down area

LIFTING PROCESS Page 1

METHOD STATEMENT (STEP BY STEP):
 TBT-meeting (PTW) (JHA) (LMRA) discussion with crew:
 All lifting accessories, pad eye, lifting point, lugs (where available)to be visually checked prior to use:
 Only current color coded/certified lifting equipment with SWL shall be use:
 Ensure lifting crew understand the nature of task and has the ability to carry out such task in a safe manner prior to
job commencement:
 The Crane must be setup within specified work location to ensure task is carried out safely: see rigging sketch below
 The lift supervisor to ensure the crane check list is ticked and completed by the crane operator prior to use of
equipment:
 Crane operator setting up the Crane with outriggers fully extended and ensure leveled ground maintaining the
center of gravity on the center of the load.
 The crane must be positioned closed to the load as per the radius of crane load chart to avoid overloading of the
crane when lifting.
 The load weight is about 1.95 Tons to allow mobile crane radius of 15m which allow safe lifting of 8.6 Tons.
 The riggers then attached the rigging gears to the roof structure to be lifted using choker hitch method and other
side to the crane hook and also confirm its secured and balance. A tag line shall be attached to the roof
structure before lifting.
 The banksman shall then inform the crane operator to lift the load slowly telescoping to the installation point and
suspend the load till the installation is completed before the rigging gears can be detached from the load.

 Only the designated banksman in a reflective vest is permitted to signal the operator except in emergency.
 The operation shall be closely supervised by the lifting supervisor / person in-charge lifting operation.
 No personnel are allowed to work under suspended load.

THE LIFT SUPERVISOR: If for any reason the lift cannot be conducted as per the method statement, then all lifting to be safely PAUSE / STOP
to review the PTW or appointed person to be consulted:
