CHAPTER V

SUMMARY, CONCLUSION, AND RECOMMENDATION

This chapter will give summary, conclusion, and recommendation of the


following problem that was stated in the first chapter after the researchers
finding of result and discussion on the fourth chapter. This will focus on the
Effects of Gadgets to Grade 10 students of San Jose Pili National High School,
school year 2018-2019.
SUMMARY

Problem no. 1
What are the gadgets that Grade 10 students of San Jose Pili National
High School owned and the application they usually use?

Problem no. 2
How many hours does Grade 10 students of San Jose Pili National High
School spend or allotted their time in using their gadgets?

Problem no. 3
In general, what are the effects of gadgets to Grade 10 students of San
Jose Pili National High School?

Outcome no. 1
The different gadgets that Grade 10 Students owned are cellphone, tablet,
laptop, and computer. Most of the students owned cellphone because
cellphone got 99%, which is the highest among the three said gadgets. The
second to the highest gadget that was owned by the students is tablet with
15%, laptop got 11% and lastly computer which have 3.22%. Therefore,
cellphone is the most used gadget in Grade 10 students.
Secondly, the different applications that Grade 10 student use are music,
camera, browser, gallery, google, and messages. Music got 57%, Camera got
34%, Browser got 35%, also, Gallery got 24%, Google got 39%, and lastly,
Messages got 40%. There are 7 respondents who answer others, to sum it up,
Music got 57%, so, music is the application that Grade 10 student usually use.

Outcome no. 2
There are hours that students spend in using their gadgets. There are many
students that they are spending 1 to 3 hours in using their gadgets because 1 to
3 hours got the highest percentage which is 47%. There are 26% who answered
that they are spending 3 to 5 hours, there are 17% who answered that they are
spending 5 to 8 hours and lastly, there are 10% who answered that they are
spending 8 hours and above in their gadgets. Briefly, most of the students spend
1 to 3 hours in using their gadgets.

Outcome no. 3
There are positive and negative effects of gadgets. The respondents were
asked to identify what are the effects of gadgets to them. 51% of the
respondent answer that gadgets supplies information, while other effects like
gadgets become their stress reliever got 27%. There are 20.4% who answer that
gadgets increase their ability to learn, there are 22% of the respondents stated
that difficulty in concentrating on studies is the effect of gadgets to students in
school. 6 or 6.5% of them answered that the effect of gadgets to student is poor
academic performance, 7 or 8% of them answered that the effect of gadgets is
failing of low grades, and also, none of them answered others. So, basically
supplies information got the highest compare to other effects.
CONCLUSION

In conclusion, gadget have a specific tasks or function that are essential


and connected to everyone’s lives. It depends on the users who will use it in a
positive and in a negative way. This research has strongly showed that the
effects of gadgets to most of the students is positive in a way that gadgets didn’t
affect them that much.

RECOMMENDATION

Based on the findings, this research provides some recommendation for


the students, teachers, and to all user

Students
Based on the result of this study, students might learn about the positive
and negative effect of gadgets as a tool and entertainment, so that,
They can apply it in a good or proper way.

Teachers
Based on the results, Acquaint or guide the students on how they used
their gadgets so that, the student will be aware on how to use and limit the use
of their gadgets.

User
If you are having your free do not use your gadgets, use your time or pay
your attention in different things instead or do something that will make busy so
that you will not drown yourself in using your gadgets.
