Q1. Hydrogen bonding keeps ice's crystalline structure stable. Since these
intermolecular interactions are similar in intensity, they require the same
amount of energy to resist. As a result, ice melts at a single temperature
rather than throughout a range. The melting process happens over a wide
temperature range because the many, extremely big molecules that make
up butter have different van der Waals attractions of varying strengths that
are overcome at different temperatures.
