Note The addresses can also be set by means of switches on the backpanel of the
subrack : however, this method can only be used on the following conditions :
the CNCC is mounted on the subrack;
there is no need to extend the Q1 bus to other subracks;
the other functionalities of the QEXA unit (access for synchronization clock
input or output, access for auxiliary alarm inputs) are not required.
If the address setting is realized by means of the switches on the QEXA unit, all
ATTENTION switches on the backpanel of the subrack have to be open.
Normal exploitation
4 consecutive numbers (within the same group of 8) are assigned to the subrack. Selection
is achieved by setting 5 switches in the ON position :
one switch of S301 is set to ON to select a group of 8 addresses (the other switches of
S301 and all switches of S302 are set to OFF);
the first 4 switches of S401 are set to ON if the first 4 addresses of the group have to
be used (the other switches of S401 and all switches of S402 are set to OFF);
the 4 switches of S402 are set to ON if the last 4 addresses of the group have to be
used (all switches of S401 are set to OFF).

The addresses are assigned to the units on the subrack as follows :
the 1st address belongs to the PCM controller unit in position 15 (2nd multiplexer) and
the main ringer power unit RGPA in position 8;
the 2nd address belongs to the PCM controller unit in position 1 (1st multiplexer) and
the redundant ringer power unit RGPA in position 7 or 16, if provided;
the 3rd address belongs to the unit in position 14 (Slave PCM controller of 2nd
multiplexer or ILTAUS);
the 4th address belongs to the unit in position 2 (Slave PCM controller of 1st
multiplexer or ILTAUS).

the 7th address belongs to the unit in position 12 (Slave PCM controller of 2nd
multiplexer or ILTAUS);
the 8th address belongs to the unit in position 4 (Slave PCM controller of 1st
multiplexer or ILTAUS).
Take care to select different groups by means of the switches of S301 and
ATTENTION S302.
As the switches of S302 can only select addresses below 32, it can be
TIP appropriate to select the addresses above 32 with the switches of S301.
