: with CNCC or without CNCC.

Network Controller CNCC equipped in the housing

 1 CNCC unit in position 9;
 1 master PCM controller unit in position 8;
 power supply units :
 if no ringing functions are required : 1 AC/DC converter with -48 V, +5 V and
-5 V supply (e.g. 3AL 42929) in positions 6 and 7;
 if ringing functions are required :
 1 AC/DC converter with -48 V supply (e.g. 3AL 42930) in positions 5 and 6;
 1 ringer/power unit in position 7;
 the positions 1 to 4 or 1 to 5 can be equipped with a redundant ringer/power board (if
applicable) and the necessary CSU's to build 1 multiplexer system :
 the CSU's in position 4 and 5 are connected to the internal bus 1;
 the CSU's in position 1 to 3 are connected to the internal bus 2.

Network Controller CNCC not equipped in the housing

 1 master PCM controller unit in position 8;
 power supply units :
 if no ringing functions are required : 1 AC/DC converter with -48 V, +5 V and
-5 V supply (e.g. 3AL 42929) in positions 6 and 7;
 if ringing functions are required :
 1 AC/DC converter with -48 V supply (e.g. 3AL 42930) in positions 6 and 7;

 the housing is primarily intended to be used with channel units (CSU's) with 10 or 15
channels per unit (or occupying 10 or 15 time slots on the internal bus). However,
other channel units can be mounted as well. Channel units with different signalling
types can be combined in one housing.
 when the channels on the CSU's occupy more than 30 time slots, at least one CSU
should be placed in such a position that the corresponding channels are connected to
bus 2. In this way the system configuration can be adapted, if required, by means of
man-machine commands only and without the need to rearrange the layout.
 an integrated line test unit ILTAUS can be mounted in any of the positions 1 to 5.
 auxiliary units, if required, can be placed on any of the remaining places.
 In case 1511BA with clock protection the slave PCMC controller unit can only be
mounted in position 6.

Line terminal units

A line terminal unit can be mounted in any of the positions 1 to 5, not occupied by a
multiplexer unit.
The housing can also be equipped with line terminal units only :
 1 CNCC unit in position 9;
 1 AC/DC converter with -48 V supply (e.g. 3AL 42930) in positions 5 and 6;
 the other positions can be equipped with line terminal units.
Remark : in case of a 1+1 configuration, the corresponding units should be placed in
position 1 and 2, 3 and 4 or 7 and 8.

4 Switch settings on the backpanel

One switch is provided on the backpanel in position 9. This switch can only be reached if
no units are mounted on the housing.
The switch has to be set according to the equipped unit in position 9 : CNCC or
ringer/power.
