III. PROCEDURE
A. Preliminary Activities
1. Drill:
Flash numbers to add or subtract. Let the pupils answer it quickly. (It
can be done through a game)
2. Review:
Using concrete materials like straws, popsicle sticks, marbles, let pupils
group these according to the given phrase and let them count it after.

B. Lesson Proper
1. Motivation
Call two pupils two pupils to do what the story is all about. Use a real apple
and bread.
Read the short story below:
2. Introduction/Presentation
Show on the presentation the apple that was cut into half.
Ask:
Pagtunga sa mansanas pila na kabahin? Ans.2
Pila man ang gihatag kang Len? Ans. 1
Pila kahiwa ang tinapay ni Tatay Tilo?
Pila man ang nawala?
3. Modelling/Teaching
Flash the fractions

Ask: Kaila ba kamo kung unsa kini nga mga numero?
Say: Kini nga pagkasuwat gitawag og fraction. Ang numero nga anaa sa ibabaw gitawag nga
numerator ang ubos nga numero gitawag og denominator.
Kini nga numero gitawag og katunga o one half. (Let the children read the name)

Ang 4 sa ubos nagpakita kung pila ka bahin ang tinapay nga gidala ni Tatay Tilo. Ang
1 mao ang nahatag kang Len.
The teacher will show different shapes showing one half and one fourth. The teacher
will explain that a whole shape is divided into equal parts. And the shaded part was
the one being taken.

The teacher will explain that every whole must be divided equally.

Mao kini ang sayop nga one fourth
4. Guided Practice (The teacher will guide the learners for the activity)
Post a chart on the board showing two columns for ½ and ¼. Prepare a box
with different shapes inside showing ½ and ¼ and shapes divided unequally.
The teacher will be the one to pick a shape. The learner will paste it on the
right column. The learner as well will identify if the given shape is divided
equally or not.
Let the learners illustrate what is one half and one fourth by cutting the given
picture according to what the teacher will say or request.
After each group is done with their output. Let them present their work at the front. After each
presentation a unique clap will be given for their performance. (KRA 2 obj. 4)
6. Generalization:
Say: Unsa ang pangalan ani ½? ¼?
Giunsa pagbahin ang ½ ug ¼?
Unsa ang bout pasabot sa numero nga naa sa igbaw? Ang sa ubos?
Unsa man ang gamit sa fraction? (HOTS)
7. Individual Practice
The learner will be provided with a flashcard of ½ and ¼. On the screen, divided
shapes will be flashed and learners will raise the correct flashcard that will represent to it.
The teacher will see if who will get the correct answer and will be given a star for every
correct answer. Pupil who gets more stars will be given a reward.
