REYNALDO S. TAMAYO JR.

Provincial Governor
Province of South Cotabato

Thru: DR. RAUL D. TEVES

Provincial Agriculturist

Sir:

Greetings!

I am Sandra S. Espartero, the partnership focal person of Ambalgan Elementary

School, Sto. Nino, South Cotabato. I wrote this letter to ask from your good office a
provision of one hundred fifty (150) Kalamansi planting materials for
establishment of the Project K.K.K. (Kalamansi para sa Kinabukasan ng Kabataan).
This project aims:
a. To provide Climate-Change Activity (CCA) through a tree planting activity;
b. To provide cheaper and healthier drink for learners’ consumption; and
c. To provide additional fund to purchase LED Tv’s for classroom use.

In line with this, I would like to have the kalamansi seedlings be planted on August
15, 2022 at Ambalgan Elementary School, Brgy. Ambalgan, Sto. Nino, South
Cotabato.

Rest assured that the school, teachers, learners and stakeholders will take care of it.

Please contact me at 0955-890-4712 for your response at your earliest convenience.

I hope for your kindness and consideration.

Respectfully yours,

SANDRA S. ESPARTERO
Teacher I

II. Rationale:

The Department of Education (DepEd) announced that School Year 2022-2023

will open on Monday, August 22 and will end on July 7, 2023. In its school
calendar, DepEd said schools will only be allowed to hold blended learning
schedules and full-distance learning until October 31, 2022. Starting November
2, all public and private schools should have transitioned to 5 days of in-person
classes.

Having all pupils attend face-to-face classes may seem ideal but for some
reasons, not all pupils are vaccinated and may still contract diseases such as
Covid-19, monkey pox and so on.

To ensure the health and well-being of learners, Project K.K.K. (Kalamansi para
sa Kinabukasan ng Kabataan) is initiated.

Project K.K.K. involves planting of Calamansi or citrus microcarpa  is also

known as lemonsito in other parts of the Philippines and calamondin,

Philippine lemon, or Philippine lime to the rest of the world.   This citrus
fruit is widely-used in the Philippines as well as around Southeast Asia
most notably in food and beverages. The calamansi fruit is highly aromatic
and is very sour when unripe but develops a slightly sweet flavor when
ripe.

Calamansi has many health benefits as follows:

1. Boosts immunity
2. Helps retain skin and muscle health
3. Helps the body eliminate mucus
4. Reduces bad cholesterol and glucose levels
5. Regulates blood pressure
6. Flushes out toxins

In this regard, the school through Project K.K.K., may boost learners immunity
from diseases and develop a love for growing plants like calamansi.

III. Objective:
a. General.
To provide fund for the purchase of LED Tv’s in classrooms
b. Specific.
1. To plant and grow calamansi within the school premises
2. To provide cheaper and healthier juice for learners consumption

IV. Description of the Project:

Tree planting activity of calamansi
Production of calamansi juice for learners’ consumption
Selling of calamansi products and by-products to the market
Procurement of LED Tv’s for classroom use
