PROGRAM”, which states that the school and community will participate in food production

developing the value of industry, patience, teamwork and camaraderie and at the same
time, acquaint learners with basic knowledge in agriculture and entrepreneurship, the
proponent came up with this proposal.
The proponent, being the School Chairman on Lawn and School Development, was
able to see the opportunity to upgrade the existing gulayan at bulaklakan sa paaralan, grab
it and convert it into a proposal which will motivate parents and the community and
encourage them to be more cooperative with the said project. This idea would make it
possible for Aringin Elementary School’s Gulayan at Bulaklakan sa Paaralan reach a whole
new level.
With such idea in mind, the proponent wishes to conduct PROJECT PAGIBIG
(PAgtutulungan ng Magulang, Komunidad, at mga Guro Upang Ibalik ang Bighani ng
Paaralang Elementarya ng Aringin sa Pamamagitan ng Inobatibong Gulayan at
Bulaklakan para sa Bawat Baitang) to allocate school lots to the different Grades/Section
of Aringin Elementary School and come up with unique, income-generating, and
sustainable garden areas resulting to a cleaner and greener AES.
In line with DepEd Memorandum No. 249, s. 2022 which makes the GPP a Division-
wide competition among schools, the proponent also wishes to make the GPP a School-
wide competition among Grade levels encouraging parents, teachers, and community to be
more competitive and strive harder for the success of the project.

3. LIST OF GAPS AND NEEDS IDENTIFIED

With the willingness of the proponent to upgrade the school’s Gulayan and
Bulaklakan sa Paaralan, the following gaps were identified:
a. There is a wide area within the school that has not been utilized since the
pandemic and is now a grassy area making it hazardous to the learners’
health thus the dire need to convert it into an agricultural lot;

b. There is a need for parents and community to step up and be an integral part of the
school in the promotion of sustainable food production in the school;
c. There is a need to come up with the spirit of “Bayanihan” to create a unique garden
for each Grade level;

4. PROPOSED PROJECT DESCRIPTION AND OBJECTIVES

This project entitled PROJECT PAGIBIG (PAgtutulungan ng Magulang,
Komunidad, at mga Guro Upang Ibalik ang Bighani ng Paaralang Elementarya ng
Aringin sa Pamamagitan ng Inobatibong Gulayan at Bulaklakan para sa Bawat
Baitang) was conceptualized for the sole intention of upgrading the implementation of
Gulayan sa Paaralan Program (GPP) in Aringin Elementary School by designating lots to
each Grade level and making it a School competition to bring out the competitiveness from
the teachers and parent and at the same time, fostering camaraderie and cooperation
among them.

PROJECT PAGIBIG (PAgtutulungan ng Magulang, Komunidad, at mga Guro

Upang Ibalik ang Bighani ng Paaralang Elementarya ng Aringin sa Pamamagitan ng

1.6 Total Project Cost : Php 13,180.00
1.7 Physical Outputs / Deliverables : Trellis from Scrap Woods

II. Narrative Report

The proponent with her objective to comply to DepEd Memorandum No. 95, s. 2018
- “Sustaining the Implementation of the Gulayan sa Paaralan (GPP) in Public Elementary
and Secondary Nationwide” , Project SWATTUG was born. It is indeed a legacy of San Felipe
High School to maintain its gulayan year round. But due to the need to have trellis for
climbing plants, the proponent took advantage on the on going repairs of nine (9)
classrooms. The proponent made Project SWATTUG so that some scrap woods shall be
used for the making of trellis for climbing plants / vines as part of the “Gulayan sa
Paaralan”.

Aside from the making of trellis as the main purpose of this project, this became an
avenue to strengthen the community partnership. Stakeholders were involved in the
realization of the abovementioned project. It is a great factor that they were all convinced
of the good intention of the proponent to help the school without spending any single cent
from the school MOOE.
Republic of the Philippines
Department of Education
REGION III-CENTRAL LUZON
SCHOOLS DIVISION OF TARLAC PROVINCE
ARINGIN ELEMENTARY SCHOOL

The School Head, as the proponent, discussed the project to the District Supervisor
(Dr. Rommel P. Reginaldo), the Mayor ( Hon. Doñ a Tesoro), Vice Mayor (Hon. Benjamin D.
Tesoro), the GPTA Pres. (Kgd. Romily Chuahong), the Brgy Council headed by Brgy. Captain
Yuri Pablo and other stakeholders. Some old trellis were replaced with new ones using
scrap woods.

The project started last August and was supposed to finish last October 1. But due
to the reason that at some point, school operations were stopped because the staff needed
to undergo home quarantine including the school head as proponent. An extension of one
(1) month was given to finish the project. By November 1, 2021, the project was done. As
expected, the following objectives were delivered:

a. Putting up of six (6) trellis for climbing plants;

b. Finding a way to help lessen expenses in the materials to be used in upgrading the
school vegetable gardens in support to Gulayan sa Paaralan Program (GPP); and
c. Promote “Bayanihan” spirit in the accomplishment of the said project.

Now, the school is continuing its legacy to have its vegetable garden maintained
year round. With the scrap woods as part of the trellis for climbing plants, San Felipe High
School is looking for a better gulayan this school year.

Such achievement is evident that nothing is impossible in delivering quality service

to the school that we are in. This means service to our learners as well. Moreover, Project
SWATTUG will mean better vegetable fruits for the teachers and students. Also, this means
that there are really a lot of stakeholders who are willing to share their time and skills in
the realization of this project.
