PROJECT “ADVERTISING FOR A CAUSE”


I. BACKGROUND/RATIONALE

Floods, tropical cyclones, and major earthquakes, though not always, destructive, are the deadliest and costliest of
hazards. The most terrible consequences are deaths and injuries in school. There are schools that are unusable
because of damages, their prolonged use as shelters, having unsafe access, the loss of equipment and materials, or
lack of teachers are some effects of hazards which can hinder children to achieve their goals.

From SY 2009/10 to 2013/14, top three hazard exposures of schools are tropical cyclones, flood, and
earthquake(Deped EBEIS; 2009-2013). In some cases, school experience more than once hazard at one point in time.
It should also be noted that schools are as well exposed to human-induced hazards like armed conflict and fire at 7%
and 2%, respectively Deped EBEIS; 2009-2013

The accompanying risk from natural hazards could de determined by the structural integrity of school building;
awareness and capacity of teachers and students; geographic location of school; population distribution and
institutional support, among others.

II. OBJECTIVES

III. DESCRIPTION
Being one of the Billion of people around the world I Romel C. Mojica AralingPanlipunan Teacher together with grade 8
student sections GALEN, CARANATION, ORCHIDS, GUMAMELA, YELLOWBELL, ROSE, and GLADIOLA under me, are

planning to have a sustainable environmental project that will educate not only my students but all the learners of the
Jose V. Yap National High School. In this project students will not only learned to clean the environment but also learned
how preserve it. The project will start 2nd quarter of this school year up to the end of this school year.

The project are as follows:

 Project WalangPlastikan
 Project Green Minded
 Project I.V.I
 Project McGyver
 Project Ukay Para saKalikasan
 Project Tipid water and eclectricity

Project Walang Plastikan- will focus on how to minize the use of plastic, instead they will encourage every
learners to use paper Bags or ecobag as alternative to plastic, students that will be
assigned in this project will be trained on how to make a paper bag.

Project Green Minded- students who will be assigned in this project are task to make all the available spaces in the
school to be planted with ornamental plants that will not only make the school more
beautiful but also make the air fresh and clean.
Project I.VI - students that will be assigned on this are task to make an infographic, infomercial and vlogs that teaches
ways to preserve the environment

Project -UKAY PARA SA KALIKASAN- will focus on collecting slightly used clothes to their classmate and
school mate and after collecting they will sell if at the school, proceed of

this will be used to fund project of other groups ex buy plants, paint and
the likes.
Project- Tipid Water and Electricity- will focus more on dissemination of information on how to conserved water
and electricity, not only in school but also in their own house.

Project – MCGYVER- will teach students minor repairs, such as repair of chairs and tables, repainting, and
campaigning about the proper use and maintenance of all school facilities.

The course of the implementation will be monitored and evaluated by the School Principal Dr. Ferdinand J.
Gregorio, the Head Teacher of Araling Panlipunan, Lyn Bernadette C. Evangelista and the proponents. A
separate accomplishment report will be submitted to assure the achievement of the preset activities.

X. EXPECTED OUTPUT

The expected output will be the following:


 Learners learned the value of preserving the environment.
 Learners learned the value of safe and clean environment by practicing it.
 Learners learned the proper way of using and maintaining the property of the school
 Learners learned to use the social media as a venue for campaigning for environmental

TRAINING PROPOSAL

I. TITLE
Disaster Preparedness & Risk Reduction Management Training Course

II. BACKGROUND AND RATIONALE

A good training on citizenship and civic welfare come in times of calamities, disasters and
emergencies as people in the community, the government and other agencies and organizations come
together without any reservation to help save lives and minimize damage to properties. This also
manifest character development which serve as a strong foundation that strengthens morale fiber of
the society and helps contributes towards nation building. At present time Teachers and other
stakeholders are always called upon to provide the needed services during emergencies. When fires,
earthquakes, road accident and other natural or man-made disaster occur, teachers are expected and
are called upon to render services in the school and communities.

“Laging Handa” pursuant to EO No. 29 signed by President Rodrigo Roa Duterte on June 28, 2017,
the Department of Education joins the observance of the National Disaster Resilience Month this
July with the theme” Kahandaan sa Sakuna’t Peligro para sa Tunay na Pagbabago” Being ready to
respond to any incident that may occur along the way - willingness to serve and has a trained ability
to save lives of other people, Teachers character towards selfless service. Teachers and other school
personnel has been an active partner of various government agencies and civic groups in raising
awareness and ability to young people and adults to be able to carry out their Duty to God, Country,
Others and Self.

Prevention is better than cure - and so this training shall provide an opportunity to Teachers and
others stakeholders to acquire practical skill in making their home, school, neighborhood and
community prepared for any natural and man - made disaster and calamity.

III. OBJECTIVES

At the end of the Disaster Risk Reduction Management Training Course, Teachers and other
stakeholders should be able to;

1. Explain the fundamental principles of the Disaster Risk Reduction Management Framework and
the Republic Act No. 10121; and the importance of mitigating the impact of climate change and
global warming

2. Demonstrate skills competencies in standard first aid carries & transfers bandaging, elementary
forms of resque and basic life support

3. Organize themselves as School Emergency Service Corps, to assist and render services to
students and to the community and

4. Help prepare an emergency preparedness action plan at home, school, neighborhood and
community in cases of disaster and calamit

X. MONITORING AND EVALUATION

XI. EXPECTED OUTPUT

At the end of the training, Teachers will have a better understanding and awareness on Disater
Risk Reduction and Management, leads and/ or Oragnize practice drills and Emergency simulation, and provide
practical training skills on First Aid Emergency Preparedness.

It is the responsibility of the Disaster Risk Reduction Management (DRRM) Coordinator to constantly monitor, evaluate
and asses the safety and security issues at the school and the hazards, risks and vulnerabilities affecting students and
teachers. However our office lacks needed supplies and equipment for its training and simulationsin the implementation
of our School Disaster Management Plan.

In connection to this, we would like to ask for your assistance through donations that will help the school DRRM in
